Absolutely nobody should agree to this, there is not a single legitimate reason for offering a contract like this.

Sometimes I think about the incomprehensible scale of devastation consulting companies wreak simply bcuz they're too cheap to hire advisors with in-depth knowledge & life experience, instead preferring children too green to even know not to work 100 hours a week to advise literal countries on policy

The actual takeaway from Amwerica’s historical experience is that we must not assume directionality in history at all. There is no arc, and there definitely is no ironclad law of the universe that says “We” can’t slide back – or slide forward into a new kind of authoritarianism.
