Succinct common sense, but Rob Anderson would probably call it hysterical fear-mongering.

Bruce Fanjoy has launched a petition to require all federal party leaders to obtain and maintain top security clearance.

It's open for a couple of months.

Alberta’s Bill 11 threatens universal public healthcare across Canada. It replaces universal care with a two-tier system. This means longer waits, higher costs for everyone, and weaker public healthcare.

The federal government must act. notwotier.ca/canadahealth...

URGENT: Stop Two Tier Care. Prime Minister Mark Carney Must Act Now.
We have to defend and promote Universal Public Healthcare before it's too late.

The party whose leader, who aspires to be prime minister, refuses to get security clearance insists that children of Canadian citizens get it to qualify for citizenship.

Absolutely chilling though unsurprising in present day Alberta. The UCP reveals their insecurity snd the Herald their cowardice.
Our new Substack article is live!

And it asks a very serious question...

Should media be intimidated by people using the tools of lawfare to suppress opinions they disagree with?

Because it looks like that might be what happened in Alberta!

Danielle Smith's former Chief of staff demanded The Calgary Herald remove an article rebutting his position...
And then it was removed.

Truly one of our national treasures. On my travels I’ve met fans from Russia & the US and they know he’s Canadian!
On this day in 1934, Leonard Cohen was born.
One of Canada's greatest musicians, he is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. He also earned two Governor General's Awards, the Order of Canada, the Glenn Gould Prize and four Junos.

Danielle Smith wants our ID’s to indicate Canadian citizenship, yet she bends over backwards to appease those who would willfully RENOUNCE this cherished citizenship by promoting an independent Alberta.

My sentiments exactly. Please, Mr. Carney, don’t repeat this incident of poor judgment.
Here is my reflection on the PM's attempt to meet with the architect of Project 2025. There is no dialogue with those who brag about destroying democracy and suspending the rights of citizens.
This is the lesson that Europeans learned too late in the 1930s.

This Is Not the Time to Make Nice
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Carney announced an invitation for Kevin Roberts, the architect of Project 2025, to meet with his Liberal Cabinet ahead of Parliament's return.

Such refreshing common sense. Wish people liked like Dr. Saxinger were in charge of our health care system!

In case you are in Alberta and missed the details, COVID fall vaccination eligibility in Alberta is restricted vs other provinces. One key difference is not covering based on age >65. Congregate care, medical and immunologic eligibility criteria. Medical:

Why does the Calgary @cbcnews-rss.bsky.social continually run stories about the Alberta NDP slipping in the polls but hardly ever reports on the many UCP scandals, such as the corruption in the AHS, the results of the APP survey which they tried to suppress, their new Covid vaccine policy, etc?

I’ve certainly been noticing this over the years.

“Alberta didn’t start this fight,” says Danielle Smith. That’s like Trump saying that Zelensky started the war in Ukraine.

What the @albertandp.ca needs now is an army of Bruce Fanjoys knocking on every door our province for the next two years. With dedication and persistence, I believe it’s doable! And necessary!

I see that Danielle Smith is enthusiastically applauding Carney’s promptly calling a by-election to enable PP to regain a seat in the House of Commons. Meanwhile, she hasn’t called a by-election since Rachel Notley vacated her seat in December. I wonder why?

As a volunteer scrutineer, I can certainly attest to this. Very dedicated election workers who treat our votes with the utmost care & respect. Also, a volunteer with English conversation programs, I’m reminded of how fortunate we are to live in a true democracy where voting matters!
With all sincerity, Elections Canada is a national treasure.

- Voting typically takes less than 15 minutes
- We make it easy for citizens to vote, without cumbersome registration hurdles
- We have every reason to trust that ballots will be counted fairly, and results reported swiftly

My sentiments exactly. I’m relieved not to have PP as my PM but disappointed that we may not have a Liberal majority government to see us through these difficult times. Also disappointed that most of Albertans continued to vote as sheep.

@abtheatreprjcts.bsky.social Attended the opening of “Liars at a Funeral” tonight. Unlike any funeral you’ve ever attended - full of mistaken identities and laughs! Great work by an energetic cast & crew! Catch it before it closed on May 11.

According to Pierre Poilievre during a campaign stop in Hamilton on Wednesday: "Public spaces must be safe for everyone. We will take back our streets and restore order in our communities." Funny that! He was all for encouraging a massive truck blockade in Ottawa not all that long ago! HYPOCRITE!

This is indeed Trumpish. No respect for education or expertise. “Skill” likely means political loyalties.
The dumbing down begins with a Poilievre government
