Smith was intent on borrowing yet another page from the Trump/Project 2025 playbook. The one which deals with sowing the seeds of doubt on the legal system. That, and trying to further stir up anger amongst Albertans.

She is her inventing a grievance to be mad about. There are no distinct legal traditions in the province. They are a common law jurisdiction like eight other provinces in the country.
Quebec has a civil code, which is a distinct legal tradition, and Alberta does not.
What is she talking about?!?!

A very sad case of incompetence coupled with ideology! Dani the Destroyer hasn't got a clue about prudent management and won't listen to those that do. The UCP needs to be fired. Alberta can't afford the chaos and waste of treasury dollars. #ABpoli

Smith simply IGNORES the successful Forever Canadian petition, just as she consistently ignores the interests and wishes of the majority of Albertans. The caller was right. CALL AN ELECTION and we'll see what the voters think!

Well look, separatists are upset because politicians have misrepresented and weaponized complex issues for years. Here! Let me show you, I can do it right now!

To set the record straight, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said today that about 30 per cent, or 1M, Albertans support independence. This is false. The latest IPSOS poll found about 15 per cent support for separation from Canada when those polled were informed about the "real-world consequences."

and THEN to say

"I would expect the US administration to respect Canadian sovereignty" . . .

Smith is mealy-mouthed, hypocritical, and at odds with everything that's good about Canada.🇨🇦

There is an old word to describe going to a foreign power and asking for their assistance in breaking up a sovereign country — it’s treason.

At this point, it would be shocking if Mr. Bratt's election suspicions don't come to pass. Smith's UCP is not a confident party. They've got to try and stay ahead of the electorate (and the opposition) by keeping the chaos pot boiling vigorously. #ABpoli

Just as the vast majority of Canadians have an ingrained sense of fairness (seeing it in spades in voluntary push-back against bullying by the US administration), most Albertans share the sentiment. So Danielle Smith, your failure to recognize that trait is going to backfire badly. #ABleg #ABpoli

Two tier healthcare is NOT simply an innovative approach to healthcare in Alberta (as the CBC would have us believe). It's actually a stepping stone on the very slippery path towards privatizing medical care! Doesn't include family medicine (yet), but it will happen if the scheme continues. #ABpoli
Bill 11 ensures the *right* people get immediate healthcare while the rest are *left* waiting.

🚨 Alberta’s Two-Tier Healthcare plan is a threat to all Canadians from coast to coast to coast. While the rich get a fast lane to care, your costs and wait times are set to increase dramatically.

Tell Ottawa to act now and stop it. Sign the petition and send a letter: NoTwoTier.ca/CanadaHealthAct
