❌Heads up: Butler County will be able to detain ICE arrestees as early as next week.

Compliance with ICE will not improve public safety or protect our communities.

We urge other counties to reject participation in federal immigration enforcement. www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2...

Vivek Ramaswamy promises to do to Ohio what Musk is doing to America.

While Congress is poised to slash Medicaid, which covers 800,000 Ohioans, to give tax cuts to billionaires.

Ohio needs a Governor who rejects the billionaire agenda and puts the health and well-being of everyday Ohioans first.

Posting this from months ago because we DO have homegrown experience with autocratic regimes in this country.

In nearly half this country during the first 6 decades of the 20th century Black people lived under systems of cruelty, voter suppression, hate, state violence & corruption. Ask them!

I’m a Bearcat past and present. If you haven’t seen the news, U of Cincy started changing bathroom signage on campus and issued statements on DEI in the wake of a state bill passed last year and the EOs that have been coming down. One of several articles: www.citybeat.com/news/legal-e... 1/x
Legal Expert Says UC 'Biological' Bathroom Signs May Not be Required Under State Law
Rep. Greg Landsman also tells CityBeat he’s “disgusted” by the signs and plans to sit down with the university president this week.

This vote was to start the process of the cuts. It WILL come back for a final vote.

There are some chances to slow or potentially stop it. Need constant pressure on GOP

Focus on GOP swing seats & key committees. Energy & Commerce is where the Medicaid fight will go down. Ways&Means for tax fight.
@aoc.bsky.social
Please explain what just happened. Is there no way to stop this w the reconciliation to be used by GOP to get around the filibuster? Are we sunk?

SB 1 dismantles a highly successful model of higher education & replaces it with a volatile system. It is a solution in search of a problem, hurting half a million students attending Ohio colleges in addition to faculty members at every public university. www.cincinnati.com/story/opinio...

@bbkogan.bsky.social does a great job in this thread of outlining our next steps. #callyourreps #wethepeople
House Rs just passed the budget resolution, the first step in their process to enact a bill that'd kick millions off Medicaid & cut SNAP down to just $1.60 per person per meal on avg while cutting taxes for the top 0.1% by $278k - all while increasing the debt

🧵on what's to come and WHERE TO FIGHT

Don't lose this in all the noise. Trump abandoned Americans in hostile areas for no other reason than doing their jobs. Now they have 30 days to move countries and find new homes, jobs, schools. Go to @altusaid.bsky.social and read the stories. Then call your reps. This betrayal cannot be tolerated

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Important to remind Congress everyday of facts:

1. POTUS immunity to break law, doesn't make it legal. He is still breaking the law.

2. Immunity is only protects against criminal charges in court system.

3. Impeachment is outside this, it's political, and Congress has duty to uphold Constitution.

In the depths of the Nebraskan winter, 2400 people came out to listen to Bernie Sanders in Omaha last night.

800 had to be turned away at the door. Over 190,000 tuned into the livestream.

There is a movement to be harnessed here.
