So UK Labour decided to copy the horrendous immigration policy used by Denmark's Social Democrats, on the very day those Social Democrats were routed in elections and lost the mayoral position in Copenhagen. Copying fascism doesn't make you popular with antifascists.

€12.80 extra costs for a book from the UK? Don't think so. Brexit is losing trade for British companies hand over fist and rightly so. Already £13,50 for post and packing, that'd make a £25 book £50.

What's most shocking to me is that this is not new news. It has been reported before. I've read this at least a few times over the years - and I mean going back to 2010 when Brexit was still a right-wing fever dream. Farage's racism and general prejudice is well established. People just ignore it

Brexit was shooting ourselves in both feet. The continuing hostility to migrants is cutting ourselves off at the knees
“We may now be reaching a tipping point where our failure is so severe that Brits and immigrants alike have decided this is not a country they want to live in”

The slowest of handclaps to all who made hostility towards immigrants damage this country for everyone.

However much Labour pray at NF's Brexit altar, it will not talk Reform voters across the chasm. Nige has installed Starmergeddon, Rachel from Accounts and so on in their tiny minds.

It’s like a decade a self-imposed economic sanctions.

One odd thing that is left out of the small boats discourse is how much the problem was directly caused by Conservative policy – specifically Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal.

2018: 299 small boat arrivals
2019: 1,843 arrivals

Truss’s 49-day premiership: 10,523 small boat arrivals
“The right wing of Britain’s commentariat and its politicians have embraced an agenda they would have condemned just 18 months ago, out of expediency and self-interest. If the UK is on the verge of a crisis, it is this – more than those risking their lives on small boats – that is behind it.”
Britain’s real immigration scandal is not the one you think
A so-called national crisis isn’t being driven by migrant boats - but by a cynical political class that would rather feed fears than fix anything
