This is, by the way, a real thing. Deliberately, in the case of the B-52.

B-52 with tail folded over. It's not a casual operation - it requires a crane to do it - but it did allow the aircraft to fit into the standard hangar of the time, and was part of the routine for removing the rudder. I'm being a bit cautious with tenses as I'm not sure it applies to the later variants.
