Meme thread. Daily? Who knows. We'll see if I even remember it exists.

1.

Today's theme: a little dirty but we're all adults here.
Old and busted: having a panic attack at the gas station because I was standing on the other side of the pump from a school bus

New hotness: I was gassing up before going into my therapy appointment so at least now I have something to talk about

I wonder if MTG saw the statement T***p made about Reiner's murder and thought about how it was a Mad Libs for what he'd have said if it were her.

This is also the argument the government is using regarding why they should have no oversight in building the ballroom.

If this "administration" really cared about national security, they'd be invoking the 25th because the single biggest risk to national security is the current purported president.
Bessent claims that if SCOTUS rules against Trump on tariffs "they will be ruling against national security"

So...like farming? And Elon Musk?
FOX: The ACA has never been more popular. Republicans are losing on this messaging. How do you talk to Americans who say the Republicans don't have a plan?

REP. BUDDY CARTER: You explain it by explaining it's not working. When the govt has to subsidize a program, that means it's not working

We are not "running out of good ideas."

Vox has. Insomuchas they never really had any to begin with.

But humanity overall is fine in the idea-supply side.

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

One way we know that the Constitution uses “person” to mean something other than “citizens” is because it very obviously does that

I cannot stress enough how important it is that you watch this this year.
Good time of year to watch this classic retelling by Rod Serling.

I didn't know what else to do.

So I drove an hour north and had latkes for lunch. And a couple bites of matzoh ball soup. Oh and a pickle.

And brought home halvah, knish, kugel, hamantashen, and sufganyot.

Tried.

Can't.

Peace. ✌🏽
We also had the 12/14/12 anniversary. My son was in 1st grade when that happened.

And maybe it sounds weird that any of this matters anymore but my flavor of time blindness is "everything feels like it happened yesterday" so...yeah.

Everything hurts.

EV.ER.Y.THING. HURTS.

fuck.
Look, I maybe can't.

Mid-Nov to start of Feb is my Season of Doom.

In just the last two weeks I had:

--Mom's yahrzeit
--Scott's bday
--Colleen's yahrzeit
--the girls' yahrzeit
--Clint's yahrzeit

Then my friend Mary died on Mon.

Then last night & today & tonight, and...

It's...it's just a lot.

Save this screencap for everyone who says "now isn't the time for politics."

Vickie and EW reduced this 19-year-old's life ripped away by gun violence to "VP of the Republican club."

That girl is not a person to her. It's a dead body she can exploit.
NYC Councilwoman Vickie Paladino posts the incendiary claim that the Brown shooting was carried out by a leftist and targeted Republicans because one of the victims was a College Republican (the other was an Uzbek student.)

There is no evidence of this--still no suspect or info about motive.

Rob Reiner religion note: One of his last film projects was “God & Country,” a documentary released last year based on Katherine Stewart’s book.

The film turned a critical lens toward Christian nationalism.

Disclosure: I know this, because I’m in it. www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2...
Rob Reiner's 'God & Country' explores the politicization of Christianity
The new documentary looks at the rise of Christian Nationalism as a political movement through the eyes of theologians and conservative thinkers.
