Meme thread. Daily? Who knows. We'll see if I even remember it exists.

1.

Today's theme: a little dirty but we're all adults here.

You don't seem to understand the problem here.

I'm not accusing him of being a Nazi.

I'm not even accusing him of being antisemitic, at least not actively.

I'm accusing him of lying & gaslighting about how long he knew what the tattoo symbolized...and of VASTLY understating how big a deal it is.
The pull quote is a bit misleading about what she was talking about. She was asked about whether he was going to make further renovations to the White House.

I like & appreciate Aaron's work, but I've learned that I really have to listen to the videos myself. His highlights can be kinda sketchy.

A Nazi tattoo fails all tests.
You cannot defeat authoritarianism with purity tests. If you are actively working to splinter a unified front against authoritarianism, you are the problem.
Notably, this tells me even Fox knows this is indefensible.
Fox News' John Roberts, reacting to White House demolition: "It's telephoto compression. So it looks like there's less left than there really is. The entire colonnade of the East Wing, it looks like, is still in shape... it really wasn't much to look at. We'll see if it changes with Pres. Trump."
Counterpoint:

I have a friend who fell for the "befriend the crows" hype and now she's not allowed to sleep past dawn anymore because the crows have figured out which skylight goes to her bedroom and they bang on it every morning till she gets up.

(Plus skylight damage.)
It seems to me that the time is ripe for a Bluesky thread about how—and maybe even why—to befriend crows.

One time, in order to get the funding he needed for the public assistance programs, my dad had to tell a room of asshole legislators, "People will not let their kids starve, they will break into your house instead."

Sometimes you have to make an icky point to talk to icky people.

Eyes on the goal.
“if we ban HRT my wife will stop fucking me” is maybe not the argument you want to be able to make but it’s an effective leverage point

Phew managed to make it another day without getting a nazi tattoo. It’s hard out here. Just nazi tattoos roaming the streets attaching themselves to people. Stay woke

Parents: check your kids’ Halloween candy for NAZI TATTOOS.
The next president will be V@nce and T***p will be off the mortal coil but I appreciate this energy.
I genuinely believe that the next president should arrest Trump first thing. Simply make a national security determination - a thing which falls within the "core powers" of the presidency! - and dare Roberts to overturn his own ruling
Here's a fun little nugget from Trump's demand that DOJ pay him, personally, $250 million: In his memo, he argues that prosecutors "should have foreseen" that he has "immunity from prosecution for officials acts." Thank you John Roberts, great rule of law-ing, sir! static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics...

On Threads, the usual suspects are telling ppl about to lose SNAP benefits to just start a garden. As a gardener, I had to laugh. You need at LEAST an acre of land to feed a family of 4. Start-up costs are enormous. But yes, subsistence farming on the balcony of your rental apartment is the answer
She's in a very weird headspace. Her body language and voice are off.
Leavitt: "At this moment in time, of course, the ballroom is really the president's main priority."

Picture of the East Wing demolition of the White House taken on my flight out of DCA.
Well good news for Melania's Christmas-decorations-hating heart, I guess.
This is the East Colonnade, the usual visitors entrance into the Historic White House, also the usual site of the Christmas decorations and where the iconic Obama running with his dog Bo photo was taken

this is the view, in 2023, of the door the public once entered the White House, this is all destroyed today

Not the WSJ having the only even moderately acceptable push alert here.

NYT and NBC with basic journalism fails here.

Third: Unless you've never seen a single movie or TV show about Nazis, World War II or the Holocaust, you've seen the Totenkopf numerous times.

The 2023 Netflix series “Blood & Gold.”
"I didn't know it therefore it's not common knowledge!" baby, two things:

1> it's not what YOU knew, it's what HE knew, and he's from a very different world than you are

2> you demonstrablg lack a lot of basic knowledge across many topics, maybe work on that instead of leaning into it?
Fetterman wasn't the only choice and never should have made it out of the primary.

Which we told everyone at the time.

Listen however you feel about people outside of Maine discussing this, the reality is that he's unlikely to be an anomaly. Just because someone tells you they're a progressive doesn't mean they are trustworthy. It's not a smear campaign to bring up things a candidate actually did.

I keep seeing Dems blamed for this guy's candidacy and I just want to point out that less than a week ago the complaint was that Dems weren't backing him. This is a case study in how easy it is to manipulate recent history.
“Betcha not a single downvoter is a real combat vet. Feel free to back it up with facts, fags,” Graham Platner wrote on a 2018 Reddit thread. There are half a dozen more antigay comments attributable to him.

Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner admits using ‘indefensible’ antigay slurs in unearthed Reddit posts
"Today I find that stuff abhorrent," Platner told The Advocate. "And I am sorry that I ever used it.”

Your political loyalty must be to principles, not politicians! I don't know how to explain this basic thing to people who do not understand it.
Paintballers have better weapon discipline.

And probably more training.
So you have no actual argument. Just vibes, what-abouts, and "the ~Joos~ did it."

I can see why you're pro-douchebag.
