According to ChatGPT:

"That count ignores non-cash benefits like SNAP (food stamps), housing assistance, Medicaid, school meals, etc.

Under those assumptions, they found that the share of US households ... is extremely small – close to zero for a full year."
wait someone pointed out that the authors of this graph are using pre-transfer income for the US but post-transfer consumption for China

that's even more misleading than the stupid Y-axis shit
graph crime aside, i'm super curious about who this 1% of Americans that are supposedly living on <$3 a day; that's over three million people

are we counting prisoners or something?

The pretend University of Austin teaches "Forbidden Courses" with zero pushback even as the real universities are forbidding courses due to political pressure

Spain is impressive.

I asked Gemini and ChatGPT why Spain's economy is doing well
On the surface, Eurozone growth looks pretty decent all things considered. But when looking under the hood, the picture worsens considerably:

- Ireland (4% of the EZ) accounts for 40% of growth
- Spain (10%) accounts for 20%
- Half of the Eurozone is growing at 0.5% or below

Why do Pedo-Don and the Trumper Pro-Pedophile Party continue to hide the #EpsteinClientList of Billionaire Pedophile Elites? 🤔
EXCLUSIVE: Rep. James Comer doubts his Epstein probe will satisfy the public.

The House Oversight chair fears "so many conspiracy theories" will haunt any findings he ultimately releases.

The author Joan Didion embraced Thanksgiving. And she staged it the same way she conjured her essays, novels, screenplays and memoirs, with an almost military mustering of planning and ambition.
How Joan Didion Did Thanksgiving
The author’s newly unveiled papers reveal the meticulous planning and devotion to cooking that went into her big holiday meals.

It is not clear to me why AI generated reviews are a problem. Is the argument that the AI generated reviews are significantly worse than the human generated reviews? What is the evidence for that?
I worry that systems ignoring the reality of AI use by pretending it is not happening are letting the worst versions of AI use win by default. We need policies that mitigate the worst harm & take advantage of the gains, like Josh Gans proposes for peer review joshuagans.substack.com/p/what-to-do...

lol one of the only #Good things about Pedo-Don is that he has #Revealed the #true self of people, their #essence if you will
Hassett used to be a moderately sane conservative. I actually co-authored a couple of columns with him. He was concerned about unemployment. Now he is willing to tell blatant and outlandish lies for the boss.

David "gets it"
The mathematician David Bessis believes that mathematical skill is not innate, but learned. “Genius is not an essence. It’s a state. It’s a state that you build by doing a certain job.”

I had missed this earlier this week but FAT Brands is likely headed for Chapter 11. This will mark the third whole business securitization BK since the GFC to end in default.
