Keeps me connected (and aware) of mySelf, my values, my goals, my connections beyond myself, all of which make me a better person and a better citizen in this world. It helps me live into the fullness of myself, not holding back because of social conditioning, which I think the world needs more of

Naps are good. We could all do with more of them

Literally meaning 'empty orchestra' in Japanese, the 'oke' borrowed from English 'orchestra', but shortened, as Japanese tends to do with loanwords, and then given back as we know it for the style of singing performance. Language trade in action!

I tried out every possible shortening I could of my birthname over the years, before realising that gender dysphoria was contributing and found a more gender-neutral one. It's still part of my birthname, a nod if you will, and sometimes still feels like it's settling in. But it's mine. Glad I chose

I'm sorry you're going through it, it sounds really shitty. I hope smoother times are ahead for you and yours

Those who could find a tunnel
that has no light at the end of it,
and hold it up like a telescope
to know the darkness
also contains truths that could
bring the light to its knees.
Grief astronomer, adjust the lens,
look close, tell us what you see.

Grief Astronomer by Andrea Gibson

A difficult life is not less
worth living than a gentle one.
Joy is simply easier to carry
than sorrow. And your heart
could lift a city from how long
you’ve spent holding what’s been
nearly impossible to hold.
This world needs those
who know how to do that.

I had some travel to visit my father in-law in hospital after surgery, which was a good visit, but my body doesn't respond well to travel and has been migraining since, so lots of gentle knitting time. Kids have started a new schl term, but it's been a rocky start. We persist.

Being kind also equals making sure everyone has all the info to make a fully informed decision *wink

yep, my daily to-do list has 'something for joy' on it. Helps immensely.

I found you thanks to IG, and the queer tarot spaces there. I'm excited to see what you bring forth next. There's no pressure to 'show your working'. Let yourself go deep and do what you need to do. We'll be here.

I'm tired. I have serious decision fatigue from trying to plan our new house (with lots of decisions still to be made), and little capacity for all the creative ideas that keep knocking at my brain. Kids are on school holiday and the house is *not* quiet ever, which just adds to the chaos

Yay for clean laundry! I have a full washing line right now too, with more in the machine. And yay for surviving migraines, too

Hey Lovely

Can you do me a favour?
Can you unclench your jaw, drop your shoulders and roll them?
Now, can you stretch your body until you make that cute little noise?
Inhale 1 2 3 Exhale 1 2 3 4
Shake it all loose
Smile like you have a secret
Now have a good day on purpose

Luv you

I'm glad it's not just me 🤣 but ouch!

This is what happens when I work with cotton yarn and can only do 10-15mins at a time 🤣 I forget to pay attention 🤣 Two rows a day going, "yeah, I'll check the stitch count and pattern tomorrow." 🤣🧶🤣🧶🤣
Anyone else, #knitsky?
terinskyweaver.bsky.social
Turns out I've done a *few* extra raglan increases on my 🧶 tshirt while I haven't been paying attention 😆 Back I go...
#knitsky
Photo of some faded denim blue knitting held in a pale hand, with a raglan increase in the centre. One needle at the top of the work on the left, with loose stitches on the right, the other needle a dozen or so rows (who am I kidding, it's sixteen) down, picking up stitches, including stitchmarkers at the raglan increase. In the background, slightly out of focus, is a bright rainbow waves blanket.

The pattern I'm working from is free, called the Bad Idea Blouse, using a cotton yarn on 4mm needles.

Yes! Part of what will pull you to persist and learn the skills and keep figuring it all out it actually wanting to make the awesome thing! So pick something you actually want.

Learning that there are numerous ways to purl, and that you might prefer a different method, helps immensely

I've realised that the meds I've been trying the last 6mths for my migraines are actually doing nothing and it's time to go back to the drawing board with my dr and try something else. So frustrating. When I haven't been migrained though, I have made good progress on projects that need attention.
