Raging Democrat and mouthy Social Justice Bard.

We're a year into this, and people are STILL acting surprised and getting pissy when they're informed that the GOP owns the entire federal government, and therefore no part of the federal government will be riding in to save us.

People who aren't in Minnesota might not know that if you drive or walk past pretty much any school, there's going to be a group of people, parents and childless, standing guard to make sure the kids are safe from feds. It's pretty remarkable. And very disturbing. www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

This used to be my local coffee shop until I moved to the other end of the metro. Can confirm it is very often a community hub. Can confirm the coffee is awesome and they regularly feed people for free.
Pow Wow Grounds coffee shop, which regularly becomes a community hub when Minneapolis is in need, are still in need. People doing ICE watch/rapid response are using it to organize, rest, and refuel. Often for free when people donate food and coffee, for those who can't afford to buy from the shop

This is why a general strike is never going to happen. Well, that and the fact that millions of workers aren't even in a union in the first place, and can't afford to lose a single hour of their paycheck.

Blue collar white dudes need to learn that when protectionism is promised by the right doesn't actually benefit them in any way. Especially when the same right wingers are also pushing for completely unregulated AI. Those good factory jobs you want are going to robots, not you, buddy.

Breaking NYT:

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."

AOC: I’m very encouraged by statements from Senator Tillis and Senator Murkowski, but it is frankly very disturbing that we are not seeing more resistance across the board.

Also a reminder that the current Secretary of Labor is a Latina. I wonder when she's going to realize that it doesn't matter how much she tries to assimilate to a white standard. She'll never be pure enough.

These are the people who think getting rid of Columbus Day is discrimination against Italian-Americans. Logic isn't their strong suit.

Honestly think that's what drove his need to tear down the East Wing and put an outpost of Trump Versailles in its place. He wants to leave his name all over everything.

I posted the other day that I think a certain contingent of this crowd is deeply nihilist, to the point of thinking like family annihilators or mass shooters: if they can't have the world they want, they'll destroy this one on their way out.

Early on in the primary he said Planned Parenthood and Emily's List were "establishment." Prior to that I kinda welcomed him, as a way to pull Hillary a bit further left, but once I heard that, I noped out so fast I broke the sound barrier.

I remember tangling with a Bernie stan in a comment thread who was telling a Black woman who had lived through the Civil Rights era that she didn't know what was good for her. Ugh.

The worst sin that the leftists of my lifetime have committed is honestly making a whole bunch of LGBT kids feel like their identity is frivolous and tertiary at best to things that are Actually Important. It started the second gay marriage was legalized.
so much of pop culture and particularly gay/queer pop culture has been captured by dumb-ass pop wisdom, its wild to see people who are/will be victimized for their identity go all in on the "identity politics is a distraction" crowd because space socialism will do away with homophobia or something

- health care subsidies
- seeing pronouns in an email
- being suspended from a social media platform
- pride month
- baking a cake for a same sex wedding
- legal rulings against donald trump
- EV benchmarks
Trump's thugs are going hog wild and tossing gas around in one of the busiest commercial districts in Minneapolis, just a mile or so from where I live. Complete insanity.
