🧪🏺 Update - authors have new paper showing how useless gen- #AI is for archaeological illustration.
All 400 images were multiply inaccurate (physically, socially, technologically, environmentally), even with improved prompts.

I was having an argument with an AI "Artist" and they tried the classic:
"Here are two pieces of art, one is human made, one is AI. Which is which?"
So obviously they were both AI. I said this.
They then tried to gaslight me and got butthurt I saw through his gotcha 🤣

So as far as I am concerned,
Technology for AI replacing humans in 95% of jobs is NOT there and I think we are decades away from anything close.
But the fact that AI can't do the jobs of humans won't stop corporations from trying to replace us anyway!
Death of the worker and the consumer.

I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.
