Some reflections after shoveling in St Paul this morning: when dealing with ice, we need grit.

(Egg|Plant Urban Farm Supply has cherry stone grit - way better than salt)

(Monarca has a training Saturday)

(Elected officials need to hear from us today)

a disparagement often made against WFH is “they’re not doing their jobs, they’re doing laundry.”
wrong.
I’m doing both.
didn't get the dishwasher going all day huh. washing machine sat empty too huh. and you went to work? Seems like the machines own the house, not you

From the MN Society for Professional Journalists: St. Paul police shot three photojournalists (MPR, Reuters, Sahan Journal) with "less lethal" munitions during an ICE operation yesterday. One had to go to the hospital. They say they were specifically targeted by St. Paul police.

Photos from St. Paul today captured by MPR photojournalist Kerem Yücel. He filed them even after being hospitalized after being injured by a less lethal munition.

I personally think it’s good that we’ve given military-grade weapons & equipment and billions of dollars to unaccountable paramilitary forces who get to do violence on the populace whenever and however they want without consequence.
makes me feel safe.
makes me feel secure.

I have to wonder how much local LE/politicians/news orgs are kind of counting on the coming weather + holiday drowning this story out. Sharing this video at your Thanksgiving table might be an important thing you can do in the next couple of days.

Another federal agent operation in St. Paul draws large crowds of protesters
Gov. Tim Walz said state officials were monitoring a “chaotic” situation “and working to understand what unfolded. We received no heads up from federal authorities on this operation.”

Ice has a legit warrant for the action on Maryland Avenue in St. Paul.

Leave the area. Document sppd action and fight like hell for them not to participate in future federal activities.

a colleague uses an AI note taker (not this one), and I am absolutely not convinced it’s not a Mechanical Turk situation.
Founders on LinkedIn still seem to be struggling with the difference between telling people about their humble beginnings and admitting to straight up committing fraud.

a foggy walk home from the YMCA, about to drink a coffee.
legs day.
walking home from the YMCA, looking forward to enjoying a coffee.
it was upper body day.
this bit fell off because I started leaving for the YMCA at 4:50am (it opens at 5am) & while I do start the coffee, it’s not brewed before I leave.

but I am still chasing those gains.

I guess now I’ll have to report I’m drinking a coffee after walking home from the YMCA.
today was legs day.

it’s almost Thingsgiving.

you can celebrate by watching The Thing (1982) sometime in the vicinity of the thanksgiving holiday.

lasagna is the traditional meal of Thingsgiving, but it’s not mandatory.

I'm boosting Maggie's gofundme in honor of the wolves nailing prince night. I'm sure she's legit levitating, but still needs help. She is probably the only reason "big dumper" became a joyful exclamation and I'm not even really exaggerating.
