Many of my colleagues view the story and fate of #Keiko the orca as a failure. I think this underplays the effort and hard work of many smart, passionate people.

We learned a lot about cetacean rehabilitation. Keiko got the dignity of passing away in his home waters, far from his tiny tank.

I had to explain to this woman at a /marine biology conference/ that I didn’t vote for Trump. Why do I need to apologize for the stupidity of over half of the voting body? I’m working in conservation and education every fucking day.

International friends, stop accusing every American you meet as being complicit in Trump’s bullshit. This happened to me in Australia & I had no real outlet for it at the time, and now I’m seeing it happen increasingly to others.
