The dismantling of a free press is a step on the road to fascism and I think that is the only reasonable way to read the destruction at the Washington Post.

👀Now that ICE/DHS are planning to buy ‘mega’ warehouse detention centers across the US to house human beings you might want to listen to this gentleman’s history lesson that he delivered at a city council meeting in AZ. Congress needs to have hearings on this like yesterday.

Shut. It. Down.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Thursday that demands made by Democrats for new restrictions on federal immigration officers are “unrealistic” and warned that the Department of Homeland Security will shut down next week if they do not work with Republicans and the White House.

Cops keep telling us exactly who they are.
Any Seattle cop who refuses to defend the people of Seattle against violent federal shock troops should be fired immediately. Full stop.

Reminded of the time that a BBC World Service presenter asked their guest how long there had been a Latino presence in Los Angeles and I yelled at my car stereo, “The name of the city is **LOS ANGELES**!”
I may have a stroke.

Someone said protests don’t belong in church and it took every ounce of self-censure within me not to say “Deborah you are literally a Protestant.”

A PROTESTant.

Hi team, I have a help request - I'm sure I've seen folks on here who have either put together or seen a talk on using social media for academic / scientific work. Would you be willing to share those resources or references with me so that I can do something similar for my mentees?

This is disgusting.
“I want the NIH to be a central driver of the MAHA agenda,” Bhattacharya said. “Essentially, it's kind of the research arm of MAHA.”

NIH is not an ideological toy or 'arm'. We must insist on its scientific independence, especially if its Director will not.

We need artists now more than ever.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
