This is really really bad. Like, you think sponsored ads on Google are annoying? Wait until ISPs throttle load speeds to websites that don't pay them for higher speeds.
A direct consequence of the Supreme Court overturning the Chevron doctrine in Loper Bright Enterprises last term. We are seriously fucked.
A federal appeals court has struck down the FCC’s net neutrality rules that prevented internet service providers from throttling or blocking content or charging more to deliver it

You know how Black elders used to say the government introducing crack into our communities was a declaration of war on Black Americans? I hope white people are seeing how a group of sex trafficking pedophile rapists were running ops on them too. You're not exempt from the horrors, you were duped.

Washington Post is shuttering its book section, part of the ongoing war against literacy & knowledge.

We at Current Affairs want to pick up the slack by expanding book reviews. Writers: pitch us anytime! And if you subscribe/donate we'll use the funding to commission book coverage.

& so far, 3) any discussion of genAI is (& should be) dominated by the fact that tech cultists have chosen violence. They’re using genAI for shitty, soul crushing evil. I care about that a lot more than I care about the tech. Given our metaphor, I personally could wash my own dishes or not.

Dr. Patricia Bath & Marian Croak were the first two Black women inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame, 2022.

Bath saved the sight of millions with her Laserphaco Probe for cataract treatment. Croak did pioneering work in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology.

1. It was not an accident.
2. It was not a staffer.
3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia.
4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.
7. No one in power will hold him accountable.

Will any of the reporters who credulously peddled the "rogue staffer" story issue retractions or burn their anonymous sources? Don't print lies in the newspaper
BREAKING: Trump says he 'didn't make a mistake' with his racist video post.

Q:  "A number of Republicans are calling on you to apologize for that post. Is that something you're going to do?"

Trump: "No, I didn't make a mistake."

He adds later: "I guess it was a take off on the Lion King."

I do want to shout-out my fellow sociologists, who have collectively created a discipline so woke that not a single one of our introductory textbooks can make it past Florida's censors.

Great work everyone.

one of the greatest human triumphs of my lifetime is the relentless, unceasing, heroic effort by DECADES' worth of doctors and scientists to find a cure for a disease much of the world didn't take seriously for years because it predominantly affected a community they thought kinda deserved it
Just because good news is worth celebrating:

There is now a Prep medication that is an *every six month* injection.

The Department of Homeland Security *unsuccessfully* sought to expedite deportation proceedings against the family of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos, according to a local school official.

At an asylum hearing Friday, the family was granted a continuance.
