This is important to internalise, because it's an incredibly effective tool of neoliberal propaganda that serves to perpetuate the illusion of compassion and respectability whilst the party facilitates and implements agendas and policies that are literally fascist in nature.
On the note of use of language, as an aside, because that's just what we note at this stage in this far too long thread, the way Labour uses language is one of the ways that they can try and persuade people that they aren't as anti-immigration as the previous government, while going further. 40/

Absolutely incredible piece of (ongoing) work here by Dan.

At 75 posts and counting, this is a fairly comprehensive summisation of the various ways in which Labour are encapsulating the neoliberal approach to borders, and the consequences of this on migrants and refugees.

A must read.
Very long thread: As with many of Labour's anti-immigration policies, this isn't new. British police have been stationed in other countries for this purpose for a long time
It does however show how Labour is pushing more on anti-immigration than previous governments. 1/

Just awful shit. Leave trans kids the fuck alone.

Jesus fucking christ. This is the most fucked thing I've read all year.

This could feasibly be a move designed specifically to target activists that have public favour on their side.
This is terrible. I don't think people fully grasp the repercussions.

The soldiers in Stargate are shockingly chill about a bunch of bronze age teenagers taking their guns.

When Snake Pliskin freaks out it's just because he's "unreasonably" traumatized by his kid dying playing with his sidearm.

Wild movie.

The language of “bottom-up democracy” means nothing without the moral-epistemic system to sustain it. Populist and conspiratorial systems now outperform deliberative ones, so any member-led model becomes a battleground for which worldview sets the incentives.
Your Party spokesperson on the member vote backing 'collective leadership' of the group: "This vote shows that we really are doing politics differently: from the bottom-up, not the top-down...

"With a truly member-led party, we will offer something different: democratic, grassroots, accountable."

Incredible piece. Read it as soon as you can.
Really valuable and honest piece by friend and comrade @nikeshshukla.bsky.social about the anti-immigration protests at hotels this year.

There's a danger in trying to "understand" someone's hate if it's based on the faulty assumption that there's anything to understand in the first place.
If you choose to terrorise children, we have nothing in common
Following yet another anti-migrant hotel protest, Nikesh considers whether it’s even possible to engage with the other side

Two days ago The Free Press, which Weiss founded, published a puff piece on Fuentes ally Dasha Nekrasova in which she defends Fuentes and her relationship with him.

Sincerely, better luck next time though.
