I don't think this is a particularly fair framing.
I'm entirely willing to believe that Peter Mandelson gets up to so much corrupt bullshit day in day out, with sums of money that would astound most of us, that a deal to buy a £2m apartment in Rio via nested companies could genuinely slip his mind
