The Dallas Wings have resigned Amy Okonkwo to a second 7 day hardship contract.

Texas House Democrats offer a brief response to Gov. Greg Abbott's threat of arrest and expulsion: "Come and take it."

And if you can’t make the “corrupt pedo billionaire is burning the constitution, wrecking social services and disappearing people at will. We want to tax billionaires, build housing, protect social services, and think diversity is a good thing” message stick then you should gtfo of politics.
This is exactly the point @jakemgrumbach.bsky.social and I have been making. The Democratic Party's problem isn't too much turnout, it's too little. The path forward isn't chasing the center, but mobilizing the base and disaffected voters with compelling candidates who stand for something.

relistening to Project Hail Mary and, well, Rocky:
i have recently found a few good Gen Z TV critics i like. and i have had to learn that “mediocre writer” and “very good insights” are not mutually exclusive.

One of the most consistent themes in all of Tony Gilroy's interviews going back before season 1 is that he treats the Star Wars universe like history. The end result is the show feeling so deeply rooted and real, despite being in the same universe as Jar Jar Binks.

Probably kind of sucks shit to be a lawyer right now, on an existential level.

As a Jew who has been (wrongly!) accused of being "pro-Hamas," I gotta say that I find it terrifying that the federal government can just disappear someone for being pro-Palestinian and there is no political outcry from elected Democrats.
My fear is that the Trump administration arrested Mahmoud Khalil to make an example out of him because they’re gambling Dems won’t put their jobs and lives on the line to protect a Palestinian.

Embrace Maia Thought because this is literally, 100%, not in an abstract theory sort of way but simply straightforwardly true and everyone can see it.

Trumpism is built around the promise that you will never have to hear anyone say "no."
Trumpism is Rape As Political Praxis and military annexation is part of the package
It’s actually not possible to decouple Trump’s expansionist talk from what he did in the Oval last week. America abandoning its security commitments and siding with Russia is not separable from the menace posed by America expressing a desire to annex Greenland, Canada, or the Panama Canal.

The official podcast of remembering Texas stuff.
this has broken me. the stupidest fucking thing i’ve ever heard in my life. the plane that carried out the first atomic bomb attack—which killed 100,000+ Japanese civilians—is cancelled because it’s woke.

(the plane was named after the pilot’s mother. this is common knowledge.)
listening to @thepressbox.bsky.social and struck by how very Texas it is. Shipley’s Donuts, and @joelanderson.bsky.social saying “the-ay-ter”. feels like home
