Seems to me that it used to be that *creating non-consensual intimate images of women and children* would be the sort of thing that Conservatives might publicly be against.

But what a world we inhabit.

Una Mullally: How rotten does X have to be before politicians finally leave it?
Under Elon Musk, X is a vast disinformation network, a hotbed of extremism, a radicalisation tool. And now its chatbot is a creator, publisher and distributor of awful material

The Centrist’s Arc of Denial

1) Govt isn’t doing anything!
2) Why aren’t we all doing something!
3) I personally will not be doing anything.

On an iphone, you find the apps on the App Store, you scroll to the bottom of its listing to where it says “Report a Problem”.

Follow the drop down menus to report something illegal.

Here’s my report, as an example. Just takes 2 minutes.

To get the App URL, (You’ll need to copy that one yourself as it cuts it off). You get it by going to the listing on the App Store, picking the Share icon in the top right corner and clicking copy URL.

New Gist: What you can do about the Abuse Factory

As a follow-up to yesterday’s Gist, I’ve done a list of four things you can do about X without even having to put down your iPhone.

3) Write to your TD and ask them to join Gary Gannon, Niamh Smith and (supposedly) Patrick O’Donovan and leave X.

4) This is the secret bonus action but may actually be the most important.

Report the X and Grok apps on the Apple App Store & Google Play Store.

They hold the real power here.

1) Write to any school a child of yours is in (you can add a link to the gist essay if that’s helpful) and ask the school to close their x account.
2) Irish Rail exclusively use X to provide travel alerts. Email them and ask them to move those alerts to their own app, or Instagram or anywhere else.

Irish governments protect beef cattle with more vigour than children. We breed both for export though.
Very well said @tupped.bsky.social. It’s all about the framing… how do we feel about having a child sex abuse material factory in Dublin 2?

(In Ireland of all places, where we have a long history of ignoring such places when they are run by ’respectable’ institutions)

New Gist: The Abuse Factory

It shouldn't be difficult to act swiftly and without hesitation when the question posed is "Is it OK to work with the child sexual abuse material factory?" But our state failed this most straightforward of tests this week.

"Under the 'Compromise Scenario', Denmark would agree to give Trump full military access to Greenland and deny access to Russia and China."

This is the status quo. We've had it since before Trump was born. It's the most open-ended "put whatever you want here" deal we have for any foreign territory.
