Can anyone give me a tl;dr on what Labour governments have seen in Mandelson to begin with?

Bought a smoothie in a cafe. Went for a walk, put on hat and sunnies. Came back to cafe and ordered a different smoothie. Got served by the same waitress who notes my change in smoothie order. The idea you can disguise yourself by putting on shades and a hat is a lie!

I put a do not disturb sign on my door and just got a phone call from housekeeping to check I didn’t want to be disturbed. Very polite and everything but seemed to miss the point somewhat.

Peter Mandelbrot. It’s just infinite scandals the more you zoom in.

If the announcer on the underground says “The front two doors at the next station will not open”… how many doors won’t open?

Today’s UX fail: trying to take a photo for an eVisa but not being able to see the instructions because you’re required to take your glasses off and you’re hopelessly shortsighted. Not very accessible.

The Jill Stein of Britain (not a compliment).
The answer is “no”.

Every pound spent on bombs & tanks is money stolen from schools & hospitals.

Anti-imperialism isn’t vibes, it’s a commitment to confronting empire.

If you recognise NATO as an imperialist war machine we should leave immediately, join Your Party: in.yourparty.uk/users/sign_up

List of MPs that want to steal from hard-working young people to give to inept elders just dropped.
I’ve joined over 100 MPs calling on the Government to finally do the right thing for WASPI women. Women born in the 1950s were harmed by pension changes made without proper notice. Despite the Ombudsman’s findings, ministers are still delaying fair compensation.
I will keep pushing for justice.

On the escalator down to the Northern Line at KX yesterday there was someone stood on the left. Even if you don’t read any English, how do you get this wrong? It wasn’t like there wasn’t a fair number of other people around stood on the right.

Correct take
As always, 2 things can be true at once:

1. Any police force using AI to generate reports & evidence for their decisions should be disciplined & heads should roll

2. The ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans was likely justified due to real risk of racist, violent hooliganism #r4today

I’ve been here two weeks and I still don’t know which generic white dude is which… and one of them is me. Therefore I must be a faithful, otherwise I would have murdered some of you so I would feel less embarrassed at not knowing your names.
What would be the thing YOU revealed about yourself halfway through The Traitors in an attempt to make yourself look cleverer than you are?

I think mine would be, "I've kept this to myself, but I'm actually an author of popular non-fiction. So I know a thing or two about... the truth."

4% of Americans said they’d been decapitated.
It’s rare to see numbers this low

Even chlamydia probably gets 4

First read I thought this seemed like a harsh description of the wildlife centre: I’m sure they’re doing their best.
Patrick Grant here on adopting a hedgehog named pumpkin - and how the Craven Wildlife centre is looking for a new home. "If anyone thinks they might have space for about 50 hedgehogs, half a dozen birds of prey and a selection of other lovely animals, drop me a line" www.ft.com/content/3585...
Diary of a garden rescue: Patrick Grant adopts a hedgehog
The wild, unkempt corners of the garden prove the perfect safe haven for Pumpkin, an abandoned male hoglet who needed a new home

Unhinged
Just read a substack by a young policy type advocating for a "government-run dating service"
to support "couple creation" to address the fertility crisis and honestly I can think of nothing worse or more *incredibly* risky on the zero-to-eugenics front
