Canadas team will play in a tournament put together by a corrupt organization and play some of their games in a corrupt, fascist and fascist state. Why should I care or watch any of #fifiaworldcup ??
The #CanMNT's Group B is #8 out of 12 groups in average FIFA Ranking, and #12 out of 12 by average Elo Rating. IF you average the UEFA Playoff A teams' rankings, that is

If Italy qualifies, Group B becomes #2 out of 12 by FIFA Rankings, and #8 out of 12 by Elo Ratings. Big swing

For @mark-carney.bsky.social We need to see declines in emissions (absolute not on a per barrel basis) through this MOU with Alberta. Nothing less. Without real declines this is a vacuous document. Don’t care what the price of carbon is or is going to. Whatever. Just get declines in emissions.

Perspective: US guns flood Mexico and arm cartels. If we’re blowing up boats and people because of what they’re allegedly bringing into our country, would it be acceptable for Mexico to start blowing up Americans for what we bring into theirs? That’s the logic MAGA is pushing.

Next Trump will give him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Congressman Henry Cuellar was indicted for money laundering, bribery, and conspiracy, allegedly taking about $600,000, mostly from Azerbaijan, to influence U.S. policy.

President Donald Trump pardoned Cuellar, because Trump supports money laundering, bribery, and conspiracy.
Trump announces a pardon of Henry Cuellar: "I am hereby announcing my full and unconditional PARDON of beloved Texas Congressman Henry Cuellar, and Imelda. Henry, I don’t know you, but you can sleep well tonight — Your nightmare is finally over!"

Now to try and reduce overall demand by promoting sufficinecy and wellbeing focussed economies! :)

Its not like we are all saying that once clean growth outsrips FF we can just pollute extract metals ‘forever’ until we are in another crisis… right? 😅

Guys…?

right!?!
Clean electricity is officially growing fast enough in China that the level of fossil generation is falling, even as overall demand rises. They've gotten over the hump.

The end of coal in California ⬇️
Something to be thankful for!

Utah's largest coal-fired power plant—the Intermountain Power Project, located in the west desert near Delta and serving southern California—stopped burning coal at mid-day on Wednesday, just in time for Thanksgiving. 🔌💡

Natural question arises: who is farther out on the limb? Carney or Smith?? Both are out there and need to deliver something real. Kind of nice that both are at risk ….
Danielle Smith tried to sell her federal-Alberta energy deal to the UCP convention crowd: tepid applause.
She told them that this proved Canada can work well for Alberta’s interests: loud boos.

This ain’t a base that wants Smith to work with a Liberal PM on a better industrial carbon tax.

The race is on between the Pathways carbon capture project and the new pipeline. My bet ... neither will have true 'shovels in the ground' and within 24 months of real operation before 2035. We need to look at the other provisions of this Can/AB MOU and see what will/can be done.

Hello @mark-carney.bsky.social This rings true. Economics is fine …… but sustainable development has both societal and environmental considerations. Society in Alberta is suffering. Going to say or do anything?
They aren't. Carney has stayed mum on every Maga style policy Smith enacted. Has never spoken up for the Charter or human rights. He's money, money, money, honey.

I think Max is right in many ways - Carney traded real opportunity for a pipe dream. But …. He needs some success soon to withstand the endless grilling on this.
Mark Carney managed to trade a pipeline that will never get built for meaningful progress on industrial carbon pricing and electricity interties — both of which will get more wind and solar built.

Hello @mark-carney.bsky.social Notwithstanding all the valuable international work, you really need to put some focus on #Alberta. All is not well when a government needs to repeatedly invoke the notwithstanding clause. A callous disregard for democracy.
