dark period in our city's recent history that will be remembered as such once it's really over. we have pushed back smartly far as that goes. every ICE mercenary, every CBP dickwad going along with this wears it 1,000,000%. you should all be shamed and ashamed for the rest of your crappy lives

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

Cities of the Red Night, which turned out to be prophecy and validates the premise...really the entirety...of WSB's somewhat impenetrable cut-up phase. So weird to realize now it was written in relatively close proximity to when I first read it. Seems ancient and utterly futuristic at the same time
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Finally I have one thing in common with our big boy--while on tour and in sleep-deprived confusion, I thought the Mag Mile was called the "Miracle Mile" just long enough to come up with the chorus for a song. Real name doesn't scan well, kept the misnomer, rest is "history." Shopping center tho wtf

As a kid, I went to every Montana Grizzlies men's b-ball home game. Saw Micheal Ray play a few dozen times as a result. Spectacular. Translated to the NBA perfectly, as far as it went. My bro and I met him once. He was a god to us, now a vivid memory from a time in life w/o many of them. REQUIESCAT
