In light of what happened to Renee Good, I thought it important to reiterate my grandmother's advice.
My grandmother’s family was murdered in the chambers of Auschwitz. She survived and told me never let it get that far. Make them shoot you in public before they murder you in hiding. Stand up for others. Never cave in fear of the Nazis or the holocaust will happen again.

I have seen a lot of people say “what’s the point?” of doing their academic work in particular, and I get that. It’s like grief: the inbox, the day to day, doesn’t reflect any of the feelings.

It’s difficult to escape the sense that we’re witnessing the beginning of the end of this presidency. But these unravelings do take time. Nixon, after all, didn’t resign until more than a year after Senate hearings on Watergate were underway.
