Can we please STOP underestimating the grave threat Trump poses by citing historical authoritarian regimes.

No past regime had a military & police forces as deadly & over-funded as this one.

No past regime was going to put the planet at risk of hurtling even faster towards a climate cataclysm.

And if @mozilla.org thinks we’re bluffing about leaving Firefox if it becomes an AI hell, they should know that the entire population of this website migrated from Twitter.

I am an old man, @mozilla.org, and I was happy to sit in my rocking chair and use Firefox until sunset. But if you insist on choking this browser with GenAI bloat, I will face God and walk backwards into Linux.
@mozilla.org I have been using Firefox for YEARS. Not sure what the new CEO is hoping to achieve by "AI everything now" but if the hope is to drive people like me off your browser, you will surely succeed.

The state of Texas has created a list of >100 trans citizens seeking to change the sex listed on their driver’s licenses. It raises a lot of red flags, not just in terms of people’s privacy, but also re. how this info will be leveraged in terms of drafting more legislation targeting trans Texans.

No one has said why the identifying information is being compiled.

In a crowded market, a player like FF needs something major to set itself apart from the pack. Ad-blocking and privacy was that big selling point for FF. It's like this new CEO secretly hates Firefox and is actively working for its destruction.

Mozilla's new CEO (the guy behind the whole AI thing in Firefox), apparently also discussed with the board the removal of all ad-blocking claiming it could bring in $150m

Another red flag
May need to find another browser - really don't like Mozilla pivoting to shoving more AI into Firefox.

They do insist that AI will be able to turn off - but
(A) each time new AI feature is added, I have to hunt down the new off button
(b) they should focus on the browser and not shoving in more AI
It just keeps getting worse - Firefox to "evolve into a modern AI browser"
Just like Google plan with Chrome, Mozilla aren't sitting still on expanding Firefox into something resembling a web browser but with more AI.
