And yeah, it’s true in my family and I don’t know any neurodiverse folks who don’t also have neurodiversity in their families—almost always totally undiagnosed for older generations. Natural human variation that correlates to family history and perhaps some other things like preterm births.

You’re right—I should have said, “assuming the premise is true at all.” That’s absolutely the vast majority of “increases” and possibly 100%. Correcting for that as much as possible seems to indicate there’s still been a genuine (small) increase, but it’s debatable bc the data is very imperfect.

You can find many actual academic papers on this. My understanding is that it’s widely accepted now as one common risk factor (though it’s not a singular cause).

I sometimes wonder… I’m an average person with only a slightly above average understanding of the law and policy, which is not saying much. Why do these things occur to me and not to people who literally do this for a living at the highest levels? What am I missing? Am I wrong?

Real talk, tho—not that this is worthy of actual consideration—is this not just a correlation we’ve been aware of for years? More premature babies survive now. Premies have slighter higher rates of autism. Some of them also get circumcised??

I didn’t watch much of the hearing (watching an irate liar is onerous)—did any Dems call out that tactic? Point out that if it was untrue to the best of her knowledge, she’d simply say “no”, so her refusal to answer reinforces speculation that Trump’s implicated in Epstein’s crimes and she knows?

So long at it’s an official act, could the executive not simply have them physically removed from the chambers? And then swear in new judges to immediately hear a challenge to that ruling and overturn it because the idea that “it’s legal if the president does it” is absolutely bananapants?
