Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.

The dedication to being a more accurate portrayal of the original novel while being totally willing to change, to enhance or diminish or critique where useful and harken not just to the book but to the century of vital cinematic history, it all came together like no version I’ve seen before.

To enter into such a well established story, with such clear eyed and distinct characterization… incredible. So many adaptations take “Victor Frankenstein” for granted, your audience knows who that is, and @realgdt.bsky.social says, no, we’re gonna backtrack and really get a sense for this guy.

Seeing #Frankenstein, I’m so used to the bigger theaters I picked a seat way in the back of this one and wish I’d gone nearer the front. Might move once I’m sure no one else is showing up.

As an art teacher I was worried AI would come up as an issue of "why should I learn how to draw when I can use AI instead."

But the real issue is that my middle schoolers CONSTANTLY believe all art I show them is AI. Digital art. Photography. Oil paintings from the Western canon. "A human couldn't do that"

Being convinced that humans can't make great art is kind of terrifying
