I want people to understand that tear gas is not some known-safe tool of police. It’s chemical warfare and it’s poorly studied. They do not care what long term harm they are causing, and the cynic in me says the reproductive harm CS gas causes is intentional.

It really makes me sad to see everyone call these things the cute cop names. “Tear gas” causes reproductive harm, triggers menstruation, and has been reported to cause miscarriages and lung scarring.

It’s like “rubber bullets” have killed and maimed, they’re live ammunition.
