The fact that the cases are meritless actually makes them MORE effective for intimidation. Prosecuting actual criminals sends no broader message. They’re saying: “Piss us off and we’ll find some bullshit reason to tie you up in court whether or not we have any chance of making it stick.”

Non-deterministic automation with high variability can't be left unattended, so they don't increase capacity directly: you still need the worker. Unless the output doesn't matter, but in that case it's wasted effort in its entirety and you'd get more gains from finding ways to avoid it completely 9/

I stopped trying to debate software developers on LLMs a while back. It's fruitless. Even if they could be budged on empirical grounds, they are explicitly fine with using tools that are themselves deeply unethical.
