There are not nearly enough people talking about Sister Act today (which is the case every day but especially today)

Maybe I’m the only one thinking this, but why in the year of our lord 2024 is Jiminy Glick showing up on my internets? Martin Short was in a pretty good place I think (Only murders! Maybe dating Meryl Streep!) so who summoned this nonsense from the depths of 2000s trash?

This is a real thing that you don’t know you need until you need it.

(Also on YouTube: the tip about how to find the manual key in your fob for when the car battery is dead and the fob won’t unlock the car)
The modern internet is disappointing in so many ways, but I do like the fact that a nice person on YouTube will show you how to open the key fob for your car and change the battery.

I wrote an ode to Jezebel and the feminist publications that helped shape so many of us. What a loss. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...
Opinion | What will the next generation of feminists do without Jezebel?
Jezebel’s shuttering is the end of an era and a heartbreaking loss for feminists who’ve read the publication’s critical work for nearly two decades.

I truly and genuinely like Taylor Tomlinson, but Amber Ruffin is (and has been) *right* *there*

This is a thread I can get behind
Here is Kevin, coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump, on the back of his head, behind the GOP. It is, as far as he knows, the only way of coming downstairs, but sometimes he feels that there really is another way, if only he could stop bumping for a moment and think of it.
McCarthy was dead: to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about
that. The register of his ouster was signed by Biggs, Buck, Burchett, Crane, Good, Mace and Rosendale. Gaetz signed it: and Gaetz’ name was good for anything he chose to put his hand to. Old McCarthy was as dead as a door-nail.

Oh, hey! I forgot to remind you yesterday that it's time to nominate indie booksellers for James Patterson Holiday Bonuses. That gives you a great excuse (if you needed one) to nominate *two* booksellers today.

@cait.bsky.social can you help boost this?

I work in radio and there’s a nationwide EAS test tomorrow, Wed Oct 4th at 2:20pm EDT.

This will send an audible alert to ALL CELLPHONES. If anyone is hiding a phone from an abuser, TURN IT OFF. Remove the battery if you can. Be careful and stay safe.
