Although part of a different topic in the thread, this is quite appropriate on Black Friday with Christmas approaching.
Only buy what you need, and then something that you like that will last a long time, rather than a cheap "bargain" or loads of plastic rubbish that will be binned within weeks.

This news is a total disaster for the NHS, and the economy as a whole. It is shameful that 60 years after the “end of empire” the UK still clings to racist exceptionalism and completely fails to acknowledge that immigrants (like my family) are why the UK became the 5th largest economy in the world…

The Chancellor explicitly references the negative legacy of Brexit on the UK economy - so why is her govt so opposed to taking steps like joining the customs union or single market with all the economic benefits these would bring? #Budget2025

We don't need a 28-point "peace plan" to end the war in Ukraine. We need a one-point plan: Putin gets the f*ck out of Ukraine!

It’s this “I’m alright Jack” attitude which pisses me off. We ALL live here, we ALL use public services, we should ALL pull together and contribute to make this country better.

Now THAT’S more patriotic than hanging a flag from a lamppost.

I no longer sit in the commons on days like today, but I retain my wish that MPs would just shut the fuck up during things like this. The chuntering is so annoying.

What is the point of all the shouting and barracking during the Budget speech?
It just makes our Parliament look and sound crass, like a public school playground rather than serious government business.

This tragedy was absolutely avoidable.

Fuck RFK and every antivax influencer. They are responsible for these deaths.

We don’t pay enough tax period!!! As a country we’ve swallowed the lie that we can get Top Quality services for cut price costs, despite every piece of evidence to the contrary.

One day, I believe, it will be revealed that Donald Trump was indeed a spy, working for a foreign power, a traitor though I fear it will be too late to prevent even further damage to the US.

Too late. Marco Rubio already spilled the truth. The so called peace plan was Russia’s wish list, not something the US drafted. He’s trying to walk it back but the damage is done.

He’s scrambling.

Johnson is a feckless and nasty piece of work. That the country ever elected him Prime Minister is to our eternal shame. Too many wanted a comedian and a clown. We lost 200,000+ people during Covid due to his laziness and ineptitude. Shame on us.
