Reminder that the fascists think any anti-fascist protest is full of paid protesters because ALL of their protests are full of paid protesters.

Why do we not have screw cap beer bottles in Ireland? Is there a strong 'bottle opener' lobby group?

There is so much good stuff in this report but man does this stand out - it has never been so important to switch from fossil to clean rather than from coal to gas. This is great to see
I'll end on a goodbye...for coal.

The coal share across the EU fell to 9.2% in 2025. Ten years ago, coal made up a 25% of EU electricity generation.

19 EU countries now have less than 5% coal (and no, its not being swapped for gas).

Coal is on the way out...

New UCC paper shows how low beef and sheep systems are for net digestible protein per hectare: they produce protein for 2–3 people per ha, versus ~23 for milk and ~40 for legumes. That’s ~15× more digestible protein per hectare from legumes than beef.

Worryingly though, the paper's Climate Policy scenario - which is based on market trends and targets in the Climate Action Plan - only delivers around 2.7Mt of GHG reductions, only around one-third of what's required to meet legally binding sectoral ceilings to 2030.

All the noise that self-styled energy wonks made about how the US should surge LNG exports to Europe did not age well.

Europeans should phase fossil fuels out of their power grids and electrify heating, transport, etc. We all should. It's long past time, and not just because of Trump.
Fears grow over Europe’s soaring dependence on US gas imports

American LNG was meant to be a safe alternative to Russian gas. That’s no longer a given, with transatlantic relations in crisis

The “nobody debates that” here is not getting the attention it should.

The nation is literally debating that. And the evidence of the wheels contradicts Vance.

His phrasing is demanding the media simply echo his view and silence any other.

Vance is as dishonest as Trump, and a lot smarter. Way more dangerous.

He even admitted that his story about immigrants eating pets was a lie, and it had no effect on the voters. He will tell any lie that he thinks will work.

New data shows that California is 100% drought-free for the first time in a quarter century.

The Golden State's water strategy is working — and we're building a system that can handle whatever the climate crisis throws at us.

Brilliant work from Aaron, please make some time.
This thread responds to Prof. Christian Dunn’s Telegraph piece on #climate communication.

I argue it misdiagnoses public disengagement, underplays escalating scientific risk, & reproduces a media narrative that has actively shaped, not merely reflected, public resistance to climate action 🧵
