You can judge a person by the size of their moral circle. Trump, for instance, has the smallest possible moral circle, containing only him. Be the opposite: expand your circle. Include, for example, animals currently raised for food. We shut them out of our consciences. It's time to bring them in.

2025 was the hottest year on record for ocean heat content. Unfortunately, we now say this every year. 🥹

"In addition to setting a new record in 2025, the global
ocean continues to show sustained and intensified warming."

If a human was being paid to create this material, we’d rightly throw the book at them. So why should X get a free pass?

Fine them to the hilt and if they won’t comply, shut it down. We wouldn’t tolerate this offline. Why online?

Elon Musk's Grok AI image editing limited to paid users after deepfakes
It comes after government urged Ofcom to use all its powers – up to and including an effective ban – against X.

One reason I feel like I'm going mad is, even if Musk did immediately halt Grok and issue a grovelling apology - rather than PAYWALLING IT - he should *still* be prosecuted and his website banned. Very obviously! You don't get out of CSAM charges by just stopping. AND HE STILL HASN'T STOPPED.

Yes, JD. Let’s ask them if they think a stay at home mom, avowed Christian, and widow of a veteran deserved to be shot in the face and left to bleed out in her own car after dropping her 6-year-old off at school, for the crime of looking out for her neighbors. Let’s ask everyone running for office.

There speaks man who sees power thru property ownership lens.

asked why he needed to own Greenland: “that’s what I feel is psychologically needed for success … ownership gives you a thing that you can’t do with … a lease or a treaty. “

Debases treaties too

I'm sorry to keep posting about this but this should be a government-destroying scandal at this point. How the fuck are you not coming down like a ton of bricks on this? There could hardly be a less ambiguous situation, and yet...!!!
My word. (Again.)

Media Minister Patrick O'Donovan: "At the end of the day, it's the choice of a person to make these images... technology is moving so fast... even if the law is changed there's no doubt about... the advances are far faster than law is able to respond..."

Well-installed heat pumps installed in the UK today achieve on average a 64% higher efficiency than those during the early trials 15 years ago.

It is testament to the brilliant installers and to the technology getting better. More in our recent paper:

This Minister intervened personally to maintain the live animal crib in Dublin, so surely he'll intervene to stop the production of CSAM, right?
Would love someone to ask the Minister who wants to introduce mass online surveillance to "protect children" to justify the government's continued use of X.

There was also a 71% drop in air pollution.

Unhook ourselves from oil and gas and we unhook ourselves from dependency on dictators, autocrats and expansionist regimes all over the planet.
Renewables and other low-carbon energy sources are not just good climate sense. They are also good political sense.

The same goes for people who express a new-found concern for the poor when an energy transition beckons. They attempt this gambit even today, when renewables are cheaper than fossil fuels.
In reality, such people couldn't give a damn about the planet, or poverty. They are concern trolls.

Many of those who complain about mining for batteries / solar / wind power have curiously never raised a squeak about the far greater extraction required for fossil energy. Funny how they become concerned about the planet only when fossil fuel interests are threatened.

Which is more dangerous: fascist thugs like Trump, Netanyahu, and Putin behaving as if they're above international law, or democratic governments blatantly appeasing them and their gross violations?

Without change, there's good reason to be very scared of what all this portends for the future.
