You forgot the cedilla!

“pączki”, pronounced “POHNCH-key”. Polish is the only Slavic language to have preserved nasal vowels (indicated by the cedilla).

The real pączki have rose petal jam.

Once more, with feeling: pronounce “paczki” like “pownch-key."
Residents across Chicago celebrate paczki — the fried, jam-filled Polish pastries — every year on Fat Tuesday, better known to some as Paczki Day.

But for the Polish community, paczki are eaten on the Thursday before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. https://to.wttw.com/4bYTDbV
You’ve Heard About Fat Tuesday, But What About Fat Thursday? Here’s Where Chicago’s Polish Community Gets Their Paczki
Paczki Day is coming up on Tuesday, but ask any Polish native and chances are they’ve already celebrated tłusty czwartek, or Fat Thursday, this week.

If anyone's curious, the 4-word idiom at the video's end, 馬到成功 (traditional Chinese) / 马到成功 (simplified Chinese), translates literally as "horse arrive, success" which basically means "May you achieve success quickly" because horses represent speed. You can google those 4 words to find explanations.

Shrove Tuesday

We have crossed the gap between Christmas and Easter.

in a way, the gap between midwinter and spring.

Candlemas, 2 February, is 40 days after Christmas.

Shrove Tuesday, 40 days before Palm Sunday and the start of Easter.
