We observed that while gene activity groups cell type functionally, whereas CREs and regulatory seqs group them ontogenetically. E.g. mesenteric and tentacle retractor muscles, a dev convergence described by @alisongcole.bsky.social and @ulrichtechnau.bsky.social.

We are considering to change the name, but then we take a big risk and will loose our Impact factor for 2 years. The last 10 years FinZ has been ranked among the top 10 journals in the category Zoology.

I can only second this. BUT, what people often are not aware of: Frontiers in Zoology does NOT belong to the rest of the Frontiers in journals. It is the official journal of the German Zoological Society, a BMC journal and founded BEFORE the other Front in. We suffer a lot from this hijacking.
