Here are my 33 favorite comics of 2025!

(For some reason, I decided I wanted to hand write this list and take a picture of it with some comics around it, lol. Idk, “art”??? The list is also in the alt text, if reading my scribbles isn’t for you.)

so, folks - I realize I haven’t actually discussed the publication of this book right here … I’m going to be honest, it snuck up on me. I’m … really busy! I plead busy.

I’ll talk about it a bit since, you know, that’s what promotion is all about!
AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW!! www.pastitch.com

The long-awaited debut book from @teganoneil5000.bsky.social, Tomorrow Is Always the Best Day of My Life, is a striking collection of essays by one of the most insightful — and incisive — culture critics working today.

evangelicals are such a joke. 100 years of patting themselves on the back about how they're totally gonna recognize the antichrist when he shows up, now a LDS-alligned torture porn billionaire literally named MR BEAST is building a child financial enslavement app and they sleep
Ofc he is tbh my only surprise is that he has not already done this

Artist Matt Baker (Dec. 10, 1921 - Aug. 11, 1959). Active in the Golden Age, he is most remembered for his amazing covers & beautiful women. Tragically, he died of a heart attack at the young age of 37. #BlackHistoryMonth

What do you know, comic book reviews *can* still be great.
i wrote about Greg Capullo's 1990s abortion Hulk comic The Creech. he's a Hulk made of abortions!

(a case study in what happens when an artist decides hey, writing can't be THAT hard)

15 parts for a ThunderCats & SilverHawks crossover is wild.

I know direct market comics is an aging demographic, but is there THAT much interest in this??? Especially with Declan Shalvey as a key architect of this whole thing.

While we’re calling to dismantle ICE, it’s a good time to re-assess our society’s relationship with prisons:

• The US has almost 2 MILLION ppl incarcerated

• We lead the world in both total prison population, and incarceration rates per capita

• Our prisons have little rehabilitative effect

From learning storytelling fundamentals thru Spanish reprints to finding inspiration as a student of comics, Sal Buscema has always been a staple in my appreciation of the art form. Here are some of my favorites, a humble fraction of an immense career. The Silver Age curtains are drawing close. RIP

in 2024 i was always hearing "it sucks, but dems have to follow the polling" on immigration, which had them backing extreme far right wing bills on the border. now that there's been a huge shift to the left in polling, the response is "how about 1/100th of what you guys want". funny how that works.

There's apparently body cam footage of Alex's murder. Do people know this?

This lets you know that a demand for body cams is USELESS and in fact just a way to give more money to the killers.

I was very lucky to draw a story and be INKED by Sal! I got to call him and gush at him for a bit. My favorite comment was him saying he only ever wanted to ink, "but Stan kept bugging me to pencil issues"

RIP to one of the best to ever do it in the superhero action space.

Whether he was inking his own pencils during his Spectacular Spider-Man prime, or given moody inks by Bill Sienkiewicz, or himself inking over Ron Frenz pencils… if Sal worked on it, it was a dynamic, stunning page.
