A man walked into a jewelry store in New Zealand last week, picked up an extravagant Fabergé egg locket and then swallowed it, the police said. When officers arrived, he was arrested and charged with theft. After the man underwent a medical assessment, the only thing the police had to do was wait.

A young fur seal waddled into a New Zealand bar on a rainy Sunday, sparking excitement and disbelief.

I think I just saw my first live echidna in the wild. By the side of the road, with two vehicles stopped and a family crouched around it, and WIRES (wildlife rescue) just arriving. I hope it will be ok.
