It's a Perfect Sentence summer!

What's your favorite written or spoken sentence in all of literature, poetry, philsophy, film? Here's a few of mine in the form of an audio fiction concept album about grief, memory, regret, misinformation, and love:

The reason people think AI can do the job of writers is because they have no concept of what writing is. They think writing is content and anyone can make it. They have no respect for it as a craft. They hate that it's difficult and want it to be easy, but being easy doesn't mean it's any good.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

what's the stupidest/randomest Simpsons quote that lives in your head rent free? Mine is the urge to say "you said go to bread" every time I am about to head to bed.

this is the most miserable woman alive. she’s alienated herself from everyone who ever loved, respected, or trusted her and sees any attempt at conciliation as an underhanded attack. she is in a mind jail of her own creation that will just grow more and more isolated as she marches to the grave

It does indeed rip, as does every second of this standout show. Rip it up with the hybrids, won't you?

GIVE ME AWAY Season 3 Episode 8, "You Have Ten Months" (written by me), is live now wherever you get your podcasts. Our hybrid heroes face their deadliest challenge yet: working a regular job. I'm being glib, but that is part of it. The point is it rips, and you should listen to it.
Quote from Season 3 Episode 8 of Give Me Away:
"Where was this taken?"
"We don't know, which is kind of a problem, 'cause... doesn't that look like a box full of guns?"

The next two minutes of video show me offering to walk off with him since he's not being detained. He declines, because he "doesn't want to be rude". Less than two minutes later, they place him in cuffs with no explanation and stuff him into a car with NY plates.

Which cut do you think they're streaming? Maybe it'll be the one from the end of The Perfect Sentence.

You know, the one that ends with an information apocalypse? Yeah. That one.
