fine to oppose the concept of canon for all kinds of reasons, but, pragmatically and understandably, plenty of educators and parents like authoritative lists
Staff at Alice Deal Middle School made the decision this year to remove all full-length novels from the 8th grade curriculum.

It's a mistake, current parent @aaronweso.bsky.social writes, arguing that "reading full novels has real and important benefits for middle school-age children and in life."
Opinion: DCPS middle-schoolers should be reading novels
Many parents like myself were shocked by a recent change to the English curriculum at Alice Deal Middle School.

Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

„Quiet, Piggy!“ Just think about that for a minute, and what it means to live in a time when a President can assault a woman in public like that without any consequences.
It‘s quite a testimony to the age of regression we live in.
