This holiday season I encourage everyone to not pass around pneumonia, flu, RSV, or Covid.

No holiday discounts on the Christmas hospital stay.

Instead of complaining about mitigation tools, let’s be grateful we have safe & effective ways to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities.

YOU DUMB FUCKS. THIS IS ME.

I have a scooter. I can walk. I can't, however, walk through 80 miles of airport. I can walk onto an airplane or through hallways. I can't walk the .5 mile to the convention center.

People, get smarter, it's embarrassing at this point.

People really are not ready for the level of rot that has been growing like mold through the elite circles of this country and those driving the trajectory of the lives of billions of people.

Democracy was dead in elite circles decades before they attempted to end it outwardly.

Love to see the respirator but if we should mask in crowded indoor spaces like airports, what about schools and hospitals? They are crowded indoor spaces too
Traveling for the holidays? Stay well on your way by wearing a high-quality mask like an N95 in crowded indoor spaces like airports and planes. Also wash your hands frequently, cover your cough or sneeze, and avoid traveling if you’re sick.

As with Covid, you cannot expect different results on an issue by adopting Republican behavior. There is no magical shield around democratic policy. If you tell them it’s fine with you to hurt people, they will.
What are their beliefs and politics? Because it literally just seems to be "I don't care what evil the democrats do because they're my team." And that's it, nothing deeper or more complex than that.

Ok this is important. A big myths
out there is that studies show masks don’t work. When you look at what the studies measured, what they actually show is masks don’t work *if you don’t wear them.* They didn’t measure the tool, they measured the wearers behavior. www.independent.co.uk/news/health/...

Reminders, as public health officials warn of a very bad flu season:

🧵

* Washing hands is not a strategy for a respiratory virus. N95s, ventilation, air filtration -- especially in hospitals.

* We should have been cleaning indoor air with the same effort we put into cleaning drinking water.

Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.
