Not to minimize their many atrocities, but the american confederacy is such an absurdist state. A minimal state at the service of an idiotized oligarchy that convinced itself they were a fairytale version of Europe taking on an industrialized state that was their better in every way that matters

OKC City Council Chambers are full for the meeting this morning. Lobby outside is also full- standing room only- as they talk about the new planned ICE detention center in south OKC.

This country has locked up so many children in one prison that the CHILDREN ARE LEADING PRISON UPRISINGS. As a country we are not furious enough yet.

What the original fascists had that modern fascists lack is a competence at violence. Sure, Republicans like watching and inflicting violence, but they fucking suck at it. They just flail around wildly and giggle like a toddler whenever they hit someone.

The censorship at Texas A&M is out of control. Classes have been cancelled & professors are being retaliated against for speaking out. It’s time to stand up.

The most important and the most dire warning to humankind ever committed to paper in my opinion. All our societal actions should be aimed towards avoiding this fate.

THIS ISN’T AN ACCIDENT! The Trump regime is demonizing immigrants, strengthening their enforcement arm, and now turning it against citizens.

We MUST fight back #ICEOUT.

This reminds me of the 40k story about the Chaos invasion of Katachan, where the people on Katachan didn't even realize anything was wrong because all the daemons were killed by the local wildlife.
terrible choice. go for it. minnesota was the incredibly polite version lol.

I felt like making some art last night/today and could have made something beautiful and/or meaningful but I made this instead.

It's a Barbie Yaga Malibu Dream Hut.

No regrets. Can't defeat fascism without joy.

ICE makes me feel like a worse person simply by existing, for the sole reason that they as individuals have caused me to earnestly fantasize about the suffering I would like inflicted upon them.

I get the same feeling from this board game that I get when I watch old clips of minstrel shows. This game is Irish-face.
While I love my niche stupid hobby of historical board gaming, sometimes it does just make me want to scream. Take the latest example, a board game about the Irish Potato Famine where you get to compete with friends to see who survives best (?)

The Great Hunger
Easy-to-learn, card-driven game, rich with historical detail; explores 19th-century Irish expansion, blight, famine, & emigration. 2-5P

This is a complicated question.

The proper answer is the North Canadian River. The problem is, the strip that runs through the city was renamed the Oklahoma River. Just that 7~mile bit of river. Everything before and after is the North Canadian. So idk
My favorite Twitter prompt was "RT this with your home river," so reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the Patuxent.

On the verge of infuriating the tech bros, threatening their ability to do business in the EU because... Greenland?

Trying to strong arm the oil lobby into questionable overseas extraction projects?

Coming for the dollar with a knife with the Powell shit?

All against the backdrop of MN
Certainly I could be wrong and it would not be the first time.

But it sure feels like the regime is way out over its skis here

American conservatism is built off this fundamental Jacksonian idea, that the White gentry of the US is to be given a free hand and never tread upon by federal power, while the non-white, the immigrant, and the worker must live with a boot to their neck until the day they die
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

the Praeneste Fibula (if authentic, wh it probably is) bears one of the oldest Latin attestations, 7th cent. BC:

𐌌𐌀𐌍𐌉𐌏𐌔:𐌌𐌄𐌃:𐌅𐌇𐌄:𐌅𐌇𐌀𐌊𐌄𐌃:𐌍𐌖𐌌𐌀𐌔𐌉𐌏𐌉
Manios mēd fhe fhakēd Numasioi
"Manius made me for Numerio"

the verb <fhe fhakēd> (=Latin fēcit) shows reduplication of the 1st syllable of faciō "make"

(literature, music and the like has seen similar sentiments, of course, but it's still awesome.)
