Marked as rude because I didn’t acquiesce to “centrist” and pro-genocide pile-ons.
Why do a party with a massive majority need to water down a key manifesto promise to get it through parliament?

If the Lords are the issue, use this as the justification to reform them - another promise that isn’t happen.
The government's climbdown on day one rights against unfair dismissal was sold to us as a way out of the impasse on the Employment Rights Bill. Pragmatism, eh? Well guess what? The business lobby (via the Lords) isn’t giving up & is pushing for more concessions. Funny that. 🤔

This is a national disgrace and ostensibly rewards the police for delaying tactics and hiding behind a wall of silence. They ought to remember their oath, and that people can only be policed by consent that is rapidly eroding.

Dick Cheney died on the same day that Mamdani was elected mayor of New York City.

That seems symbolic. Far right war hawks are giving way to socialist visionaries.

Wonder if the UK version will be Blair-Polanski. 🤞

I am so upset.

Last week Time Magazine solicited a piece from me on Zohran Mamdani & anti-Muslim hate. I pitched a framing re the dehumanization of Muslims & how Mamdani’s inclusive, socialist campaign in its content resists that. They agreed. I wrote the piece. 1/
To be asked to write about racism only to be racially aggressed in the editing process is a new level unlocked I have to say.

Israel has announced a total blockade on food and essential supplies to Gaza, starving 2 million of basic necessities.

This is a continuation of genocide.

Until the government enforces a full two-way arms embargo and severs economic & diplomatic ties, it is directly complicit.

It’s a shame that liberals persist with their insistence that only their worldview matters and that everybody else must be subservient to them. Having someone who supports Kamala Harris tell me I’m not a socialist is pretty incongruous.

Mick Lynch wants a progressive wealth tax with the richest paying the same as everyone else on PAYE, 47%.

That would bring in hundred of billions, it is time for the richest to pay what everyone else has been paying their whole lives.

Being told to drink bleach by people who apparently see themselves as the woke police because I suggested that some people who are economically progressive but socially conservative shouldn’t be immediately dismissed is pretty entertaining. Seems a little dissonant.

@andrewsparrowgdn.bsky.social appalling "journalism" today - not a massive change from the centre-right bau you occupy, but barely even trying to mask how giddy Starmer makes you.
