lol welp, Three Gorgonopsid Moon everyone! (mostly gorgonops torvus :) ) #sciart #coprolitepost #meme shirt available here jbh.threadless.com/designs/thre...
Been a minute since I've painted digitally! Krita isnt half bad :) Fun detour :) #permian #digitalart #krita
Three gorgonopsids howl (?) at the night sky and the moon, inspired by the famous Three Wolf Moon shirt. The gorgons are in rougly the same positions and colorways as the original shirt, with a white/arctic color morph on top. a amber colored morph in the middle and a melanistic one on the bottom. The background is a gassy nebula or clouds, take your pick lol.

Newest #paleoart is Hesperosuchus running off with a stolen Coelophysis egg. Not often you see the little pseudosuchian preying on the dinosaur. Figured I’d switch it up. #watercolor #sciart

me and @literallymiguel.bsky.social have achieved peak paleonerd-ness by creating our very own fucked up archosaurian hybrid
art showing a bipedal, birdlike animal with well-developed forelimbs, opposable thumbs, long and muscular legs with sickle claws on the second digit, and a mostly phorushracid-like head whose jaws are lined by sebecid-like pseudoteeth. the animal's integument mostly consists of shaggy greyish feathers, though it's head, neck, chest, and legs are bear, with dermal ossifications running down the back of its neck

The huge Deinocheirus in its habitat. Illustration I did for the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum in Japan

In this illustration you can see a scene set in Late Cretaceous Asia where an adult Deinocheirus is scaring away a pair of young Tarbosaurus

happy #fossilfriday! this is diabloceratops, a ceratopsian from the late cretaceous. named in 2010, it is one of the oldest ceratopsids in the fossil record, and is mostly considered a basal member of the clade centrosaurinae

It seems to me that the time is ripe for a Bluesky thread about how—and maybe even why—to befriend crows.

Rhamphorhynchus

Was intended to be just a sketch but I spent 2 or 3 too many weeks on it.

while bare-headed birds are commonly associated with a scavenging ecology, the trait is far more widespread than that - the wood stork, bald parrot, roseate spoonbill, and bald ibis are all examples of non-scavenging bare-headed birds
