As long as 50 UK families are allowed to get away with hoarding as much wealth as the poorer HALF of the population, there is something desperately and criminally wrong with our society

Reeves did absolutely NOTHING to address this

Once we’re independent I think Scotland will have a real chance of following through on this approach. For sake of my family & friends down south, I hope England pays attention to this too. They’ll have to vote for it though which at the moment is not at all certain.

Yet another example of ScotGov running our country on principles of dignity, fairness and respect.
Following on from recent announcements on the Improving Access Fund, a reminder that Young Carer's Grant has also been extended, as part of our commitment to a Scotland where everyone can have a good and dignified life; real choices, autonomy, and access to support.

Home insurance is in crisis, and Big Oil's lies are to blame.

"We’re never going to bend the curve of ever-rising insurance costs without addressing the core driver of higher prices: the worsening climate disasters that Big Oil knowingly made a reality," explains CCI's @iylas.bsky.social.

The contrast couldn't be clearer: your SNP Scottish Government celebrating refugees while Labour's race to the right has Reform cheering them on.

Seeing 'but what else can Labour do to beat Reform?' posts appearing. FFS, try being humane a recognising that refugees and immigrants have greatly benefited the UK. Chasing after Reform is killing Labour. No loss to me as I'm not a Lab voter, but some still are.

It is lazy, parochial and not the standard Bylines aspires to

Having worked in the public sector for decades I have never seen a refugee or asylum seeker come over with a ‘bag full of gold rings’ or ‘being sent £800 per month for an Audi!!! ‘. This is anti immigrant propaganda
🤮🤮🤮
Govt minister Alex Norris is asked if the govt will take jewellery from people [fleeing war and persecution]. Norris says the govt won't be taking peoples wedding rings but they will seize assets.

This is utterly inhumane.

Traumatised people unable to have any sort of settled life here, and liable to have everything turned upside down overnight as regimes change in unpredictable ways and with unpredictable consequences.

Someone made a big mistake with that hash up of Trump. Nothing like as much a hash up as Trump does himself of course.

From north of the Border, it’s amusing to read the commentariat worrying about alleged BBC bias. They haven’t ever worried about the much more extensive bias re Scotland.
BBC Scotland needs to be devolved to Scotland
End political appointments to the BBC.

Now.

We badly need a properly functioning BBC.

It is essential for our democracy.
