USDA quietly said Friday it will, after a century, end the Farm Labor Survey (FLS), the only wage survey of ag employers.

FLS is a critical input to setting local minimum wages for H-2A visa workers to try to avoid harm to U.S. workers' wages.

This is not exactly a new insight. It is why census also publishes supplemental measures and why social scientists have long used multiple measures. There actually is extensive literature on this issue. www.congress.gov/crs-product/...

More Windsor than Obergefell, but a big deal nonetheless!
BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

On this day in 1883, the Washington territory extended suffrage to women. But a court invalidated that law in 1887. When the legislature enacted a new woman suffrage law in 1888, a court invalidated the 2d law a few months later. Women in Washington state didn’t win the vote until 1910. #WeTheMen

This like insisting that you must make green beans with cream of mushroom canned soup.

A marshmallow company pushed this recipe on us in the early 20th c. So if you like it, fine. But there are a lot of ways to make sweet potato dishes.

They lied about it. All of it. A thug cop shot an unarmed woman five times without justification, boasted about it to his colleagues, and then this administration tried cover it all up by arresting her and charging her with felonies.
Absolutely incredible; after shooting Marimar Martinez 5 times and arresting her on claims that she rammed them and pulled a gun, prosecutors have now moved to dismiss ALL criminal charges against her and her codefendant.
New: the govt has moved to dismiss its assault case against Marimar Martinez and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, two people accused of "box[ing] in" a Border Patrol vehicle in Chicago on Oct. 4.

One agent shot Martinez, with evidence presented to the court that he later bragged about in text messages.
