USDA quietly said Friday it will, after a century, end the Farm Labor Survey (FLS), the only wage survey of ag employers.
FLS is a critical input to setting local minimum wages for H-2A visa workers to try to avoid harm to U.S. workers' wages.

It's not just that the United States has stopped trying to promote liberal democratic ideas internationally. It's that the United States is actively trying to promote the contrary. It's trying to turn more countries into Hungary.

On this day in 1883, the Washington territory extended suffrage to women. But a court invalidated that law in 1887. When the legislature enacted a new woman suffrage law in 1888, a court invalidated the 2d law a few months later. Women in Washington state didn’t win the vote until 1910. #WeTheMen

Absolutely incredible; after shooting Marimar Martinez 5 times and arresting her on claims that she rammed them and pulled a gun, prosecutors have now moved to dismiss ALL criminal charges against her and her codefendant.
New: the govt has moved to dismiss its assault case against Marimar Martinez and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, two people accused of "box[ing] in" a Border Patrol vehicle in Chicago on Oct. 4.

People think this is outlandish prosecutory behavior, but charging arrestees with assault for injuries cops give themselves during arrest is quite common. In fact, people can be (and are) charged with felony murder when cops kill an innocent bystander or an accomplice when responding to a crime
