Angus Taylor is going to be the Brendan Nelson of Alexander Downers for what's left of the Liberal Party.

I think this interview needs to be run again over the next 24-48 hours. This is Angus trying to explain why wages going up is bad because you pay more in income tax.

Seeing this from Melbourne when we can smell the smoke from bushfires right next to the coast, after a day of 45C, this really does feel like the mood.

I wonder whether Petter Dutton is sitting in one of his investments thinking "Maybe I'll have another chance!?"

Loving all the "ends justifies the means" people talking about trump's actions in Venezuela.

Oh, and the "we're going to run Venezeula for now" and "they have a lot of money coming out of the ground" and "that woman that won the Peace Prize, not good enough".

Thugs and criminals.

There is no gun "debate".

There are not two equal sides. It is almost everyone vs almost no one.

70% of Australians wanted tougher gun laws *before* Bondi.

The playground at Bondi where the Channukah massacre took place is unnamed.

It should be renamed "Matilda's Playground" after the youngest victim, who was given "the most Australian name we could think of" by her UA immigrant parents.

This guy's series "The Last Year of Television" slaps! Funny, bitchy, but very insightful review of our TV culture and how it influences and is influenced by our institutions.

The one on the power of Police to influence how they are portrayed on TV is an expose that more people need to know about.

Well Smith St Collingwood almost has all of the food groups represented:
* McDonalds
* KFC
* Nandos
* G&G
* Grill'd

At least the really good Banh Mi and Turkish bakery are still around.

At least they wanted to vote, which I guess is a step up from the usual apathy.

On the other hand I think compulsory enrolment and voting but with the reward of a democracy sausage is a much better GOTV campaign.

I’m pretty sure that this was the last “Duke of York”.

Supposed to be for the second-son of the Crown.

Pretty sure William won’t be recreating it for his son Louis.

A few weeks ago the King prayed with the Pope, 1st time since Henry VIII. No one noticed.

What's truly amazing is how "unimportant" this is on the world stage today. For hundreds of years, people have fought and died over the divorce of Henry, kingdoms have risen and fallen.

Today, it has no effect on the world other than polite applause.
