18 & 19 year olds with no income support should “just go where the jobs are” said the Prime Minister who famously had his limo deliver him across the road.

“Good luck with the train-hopping, you plucky young hobos,” he added, suggesting hedge-&-ditch as an affordable alternative to bed-&-breakfast.

I finished my mini kākahu! I quite like it as a top — but it would take a tremendous amount of Hollywood tape to make it G rated. All bets are off if I lift my arms!
Selfie of Whiti wearing a mini kākahu as a top. It is woven in cotton and peacock feathers.

Apart from massive job losses out of the economy, changes to youth benefit come in the wake of: polytech closures, less funding for mental health, no extra funding for universities, changes to NCEA that mess with vocational training (hospitality) & force YP into SL debt

Jobseeker changes: 'Punished for economic crisis they didn't create'
The prime minister says benefit dependency is a "tragedy" and tightened criteria resets expectations - but a youth advocate says they have never met a young person who doesn't want to find work.

Some quotes from New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon:

• “The world doesn’t owe you a living”
• “I'm wealthy, I'm ‒ you know ‒ sorted.”
• “just make a marmite sandwich”
• “I don’t care.” (said multiple times since becoming PM)

This “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” propaganda is demonstrably a false narrative when all the ways to pull yourself up have been deliberately and systemically removed by people who have never had to worry a single day in their entire lives about where their next meal is going to come from.

"The world doesn't owe you..." suggests entitlement, this is coming from the man who said "I'm entitled to my entitlements"

So Collins wants New Zealand to become an international arms dealer.
My kiwisaver fund explicitly excludes weapons because they're incompatible with ethical fund management, but here's Judith Collins gleefully announcing our entry into this appalling trade. WT actual F.

I’m reading Blake’s Progress at the moment!
Copy of the book Blake’s Progress. The cover features a version of his painting “Ancient of Days” and a floating, disapproving head presumably of Blake. Absent is a reprentation of Kate Blake who is the actual protagonist of the novel.
