every big AI pitch is like β€œwhat if we took away your means of survival and devalued all your skills to make stonks go up temporarily? You’d like that wouldn’t you?”

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

β€œThe scheme provides unconditional, regular payments to eligible artists and creative workers, allowing them to focus on their practice without the pressure of commercial viability.”

β€œA cost-benefit analysis by Alma Economics found that for every €1 invested, society receives €1.39 in return.”
Damn. This is amazing. Β£325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Iconic moment at the Downton Abbey premiere
πŸ‚"Days at the Morisaki Bookshop" by Satoshi YagisawaπŸ‚

I listened to the audiobook of this which was delightful. The atmosphere was so wonderfully bookish and perfect for the fall, so I'm really glad I decided to put this on my Fall TBR. πŸ’ͺ🏻

✨️"Piranesi" by Susanna Clarke✨️

I went into this fully expecting to love it as much as everyone recommending it did, but unfortunately, it fell completely flat for me. The mystery was interesting, but sadly I was very bored most of the time. πŸ₯Ή This one just wasn't for me.

Authors: If you found out that your publisher(s) failed to register with the U.S. Copyright Office, we can help. We provide ongoing legal assistance to our members and advocate for their work, particularly in the face of ongoing AI-related theft.
I am lightly horrified by how many people have now looked up their books and found out their publishers (who often were required contractually!!!!) just... didn't register the copyrights on books. Not all of them! Just sporadically!

This is not just one publisher, I've seen all the big ones now.
Today is the day authors are learning how many of their publishers straight up blew off registering copyright and I feel like that deserves a class action suit of its own if it costs everyone their settlement money from the Anthropic suit... πŸ˜’πŸ€¬

one thing my fantasy books will never be is historically accurate. when were indoor plumbing and en suite bathrooms invented? that's none of my business. my mc in this spanish renaissance-inspired fantasy world has a toilet. they have magic and toilets. the toilets are the real magic.
