Must read regarding X, the big fine and EU law

Expect Vance et al to attack all the wrong angles on this
Don't let anyone tell you that the Commission's DSA enforcement against X is about speech or censorship.

That would, indeed, be interesting. But this is just the EU enforcing some normal, boring laws that would get bipartisan support in the U.S. (I bet similar bills *have* had that support.) 1/

Reform accepted £9 million from a former Boris Johnson backer & crypto-multimillionaire.

Today, Nigel Farage postures as a righteous defender of the same democracy he actively undermines.

Democracy should never be for sale. It's time for a cap on political donations.

I can attest to this, it's disgusting. Hull is a good example, a nurse - in uniform, walking to her job at the hospital was randomly punched in the face and knocked to the ground.
That would not have happened 20 years ago, we have allowed a sick narrative to take over and it needs to stop.

The government still can't say how much damage was caused by Palestine Action at RAF Brize Norton. The two engines damaged have returned to service.

The UK doesn't recognise Maduro in Venezuela "because of the way in which the election was conducted", says foreign minister Baroness Chapman.

Her ally Sisi of Egypt "won" "elections" with 90% of the vote in 2023 and came to power after the massacre of 1,000 people in 2013.

Talk about missing the point. 🤦‍♂️
Farage as sharp as a bag of wet lettuce.
Rather than apologising for his antisemitism, Farage demands the BBC apologise for the antisemitism of Alf Garnett, a fictional character created to satirise antisemitism, who was portrayed by a Jewish man.

FACT OF THE DAY. 3 December 1992. Neil Papworth sent the world’s 1st mobile phone text message. It read: “Merry Christmas.” It was sent to the cellphone of Vodafone director, Richard Jarvis. It was a modest start, but it ultimately changed the way in which humans communicated with each other.

My wife qualifies for PIP and swaps this for a car plus we paid 3500 up front to get something more accessible. This allows her to work, pay tax and NI and also spend in the economy. If she had to give up work, the cost to the Treasury in lost tax would be more than she receives in PIP.

The government refuses to say, citing "national security".
