Oh man, elbows aren't supposed to bend that way. That sucks for Daniels
...okay? Sure, irregularities like that can happen infrequently but also assuredly happen to others too.

I'll just come back to the original statement. I do not think the Jets are a better team without Ehlers - they certainly haven't shown that thus far - even accounting for 17/91/54's injuries.
Part of that is the pleasure of having 37 behind you. But it's risky being so top-heavy with depending on the top line, pair, and PP unit to do nearly all of your scoring against easy schedule.

That being said: can only play the teams in front of you, and hopefully returns balance things out soon.
Yes, since Vilardi got the monkey off his back, that line has been creating dangerous chance after chance and are converting. In terms of every team's last 5GP using 55 as a proxy, he's at 17.22 HDCF/60 (33rd) and 3.9 xGF/60 (21st). But that's only good for 50% in both, but 63% in actual GF%.
I know: still no 17, 54, nor 91, they’re all coming back soon, and yesterday’s game vs PIT was a good showing. But the statement alone irks me.

81-55-13 at 5v5 has 12 goals with a barely 50% xGF% - the next line is 7-19-9 with 3GF at 41% xGF%. This team doesn’t look great without Ehlers at all.
“Hot take! I like the Jets better without Ehlers.”

Uhh… *tugs at collar*
Ouch

From last place in the AL East (and otherwise not living up to the hype for many other seasons prior), to being a millisecond and millimetre away from winning it all, ultimately losing to one of the best pitching performances ever. That's a stinger, for sure
No way on a broken bat
I don’t watch baseball because I know 95% of baseball games aren’t like this. But damn. This is top 1% of sports games I’ve watched in a while

Just Toronto sports things, lol
Oh yeah, he's channelling the clutch tonight
Wonder how many of the players on those respective lines will be retiring. And yeah, bring Zach back to finish out his contract and hopefully convince Elgersma to be his backup and learn on transitioning to the CFL. But get Hogan and Hall away from this entire operation ASAP
Bombers season finishes with a poorly designed and thrown dump pass to Oliveira and then an interception. Kinda fitting, tbh

Go Ti-Cats, win it for Ted Goveia
Well, at least I can watch the Jets game instead.
#0 Cam Allen is the worst offender for this. Dude only "tackles" by launching his shoulder or back into opposing players, and he just bounces off of them. Make a fucking tackle
*sigh*
The problem with dressing this many LBs is that they don't know how to wrap their arms to make a fucking tackle
Based on how many LBs they’re dressing, I’m going to wager the line will be mostly asked to play contain and dare Alexander to throw into coverage or disguise as many blitz packages as possible
Well, at least there was about 10 minutes of making things interesting
Who knew I could be stunned in multiple ways in the same game
I can forgive them for bringing back Collaros - even him at 37 is still better than most CFL backups - but they clearly did not give him an offensive scheme that protected him both literally in terms of an offensive line and figuratively in terms of a playcalling that exposed his faults

...it always seems like Bombers are a year-or-two late on making the hard choices of cutting them, instead valuing the "FIFO" locker room culture. Unfortunately, seems like too many of those aging problems culminated in the same season they're hosting the Cup and opted for "one last run". (2/2)
I suppose the one thing that's extremely clear is that the Bombers lean hard on their leaders to establish the culture, set the tone, and otherwise be good role models. That's important in a league where your depth roster can have significant churn year-to-year. But when those vets age out... (1/2)
The "Canadian Mafia" trio of Miller, Walters, and O'Shea are all aligned in how the roster is built/coached. At the same time, you don't make five consecutive trips to the Grey Cup without losing important pieces (RIP Ted Goveia) and death-by-a-thousand-cuts. "All of the above" would be my answer
So is it a player issue or do we start to look at coaches who can’t build a winning game plan against Montreal or Toronto when it matters?
