In all the criticisms of WPG I’ve read lately, I think we are being way too lenient on mgmt pencilling in Toews as a middle 6 centre in the summer and using that as a pitch to try and retain or attract talent like Ehlers. A complete and total whiff and misread of the roster’s gaps.
The Mouth of Cheveldayoff - sorry, I mean Darren Dreger - has also now apparently been making the rounds pitching Toews as the 2C solution for the Jets have been searching for. What a pitch, indeed.

I have faith in Perfetti being a top player in the NHL, even if thus far it appears he may not have lived up to the theoretical extension in Year 1. But maybe it would’ve limited Jets cap space to sign JAGs like 19/14/70 and play their prospects in NHL mins instead. 91 is low on my list of concerns.
Imagine if Chevy has signed Perfetti at 8X$7M like half the internet wanted.

According to @naturalstattrick.com, Perfetti was on the ice for 0.29 xGF and 1 HDCF in 7min with his two periods of play before getting benched. Jets only managed 0.20 xGF and 1 more HDCF in the 18min of 5v5 play in the 3rd period down by a goal.
It appears Cole Perfetti has been benched by #NHLJets coach Scott Arniel. He took penalty near end of the 2nd, came out of the box early in 3rd, was on the ice for 9 seconds and that was it.

6v5 in general is just atrocious
Jets breakouts have been pretty bad in general, but watching them try to enter the OZ at 6v5 the last couple of games has been revolting

I was too lenient on describing how limited this window was for the Jets. They are straight up adrift in no-man’s-land. You can’t single out any one individual: how they built this roster was based on how they intended to set lineups and play their game, and everyone was happy…
WPG finally exorcized the 1st round playoff demon - but the window becomes shorter and tighter. Hellebuyck can't play 60+ games in the regular season. Arniel needs to experiment with lines in-season to find offence when injuries happen. Younger players need to play important minutes to develop.

Cole Perfetti may still be skating 1MPH slower coming off a high ankle sprain, but it’s like he DBZ instant transmissions to the front of the net getting behind the opposing defender, their size a total non-factor. He’ll get his goals owed to him eventually.

It's rather incredible to me how many sports outlets' primary takeaway from this livestream was that Nacua criticized NFL refs and not that he did something EXTREMELY antisemitic during it. AA is practically the only one to actually highlight this.

I still remember someone trying to convince me that Stanley’s offence at the point was a good thing because he “gets pucks through” for tips or on the goalie. Dude just wants to be a forward.
Why has 1 goal per year Logan Stanley suddenly turned into a goal scorer? This year he’s shooting from much closer to the net. Only 1 of his goals has come from the point. All others have been from the top of the circles or closer. He’s never shown much scoring touch from 55 ft+
