Biases as a trans person aside, I think at some point we need to make a stand simply because Republican affirmative action becoming the norm will make it functionally impossible to teach.

I don't think free speech on campus ought to mean that a young coddled bigot gets to use their ignorance to casually destroy the career of a knowledgeable trans person on a random Wednesday

It’s entertainment companies vs news reporting entities for the time being. CBS is owned by Paramount and Paramount needs to keep consolidating the market, so who really cares if Bari Weiss turns their news into a slop factory for 3 years?
Even 5 years ago if you had told me CBS News would go this way whereas the WSJ wouldn’t it would have surprised me — ultimately I think purveyors of business news are the only ones insulated from these dynamics because when rich people are paying you for market-moving news you can’t mess around.

This happens in so many areas of public life rn. It’s like cancel culture, lots of people want to say they oppose it, but if someone was saying bigoted and antisocial stuff in their own office, they wouldn’t be surprised to see that person get fired. So why is it any different with celebrities?
Way too many of these questions get processed—in public discourse!—in terms of "Would I cut this person out of my life?" & accordingly "Is it wrong to cut people out of your life?" The legal system & its finer distinctions for serious breaches of conduct barely feature

Every clip I watch of Rahm makes me want him to get severely embarrassed if he chooses to run for POTUS in 2028. Not even someone like Newsom makes me feel this way.

I think it’s pretty likely Bari Weiss quits far sooner than anyone expects because if there’s anything we learned from her tenure at the New York Times it’s that this lady hates working, absolutely despises it, and she probably had to send like four emails today

From Massachusetts to Minnesota, our Somali communities are strong and vibrant.

And no amount of hate from the occupant of the White House will change that.

Proud to stand in solidarity with our Somali siblings in Boston and let them know we’ve got their back.

Some Dems have told themselves only ~1% of the population is trans so they can dip their toe in the anti-trans filth and come out clean.

I don't have any trans family members—but it still makes me irate. I see it as a huge red flag, a sign you are unprincipled and untrustworthy. And I'm not alone.
We are parents of a trans kid and our family takes this very, very personally. If you intentionally make life harder for our beloved daughter, it’s EXTREMELY hard to think of you as an ally, to say the least. @amyklobuchar.com - you still send us requests for money, while hurting our kid. Disgusted.

Is there a more humiliating job in the world right now than being the devoted MAGA Speaker of the House?
Q: Last week Trump said his legislative agenda is essentially done. So why should voters vote for Republicans if there's nothing left to do legitlatively?
